Ex-guit is a tee-totaler. He was always harping on me not to drink. Screw that. I'm a grownup, and I don't need or want him for a Daddy. I never get wasted...a beer while setting up, a few beers during the gig, plenty of water...if not beer, then lots of water and iced tea, with a couple shots of bourbon. I asked him if he thought I was playing badly...no, I was not. He said he's just had a lot of problems in the past with players who drank to excess, and he would prefer none of his bandmates drink at all. Well...I'm not one of them, so STFU. Told him when he can pay me a weekly retainer, he can start telling me what to do.

Sometimes I get lubed up before the gig. I am good at concealing if I have to do that. Other than that I just make sure I can perform and drive home.
