driving - Do you "signal" when changing lanes?

The driver is usually the one sitting behind the steering wheel......... unless of course I am driving and my wife is in the car

I am so old I actually remember when cops used to give tickets to people who didn't use their turn signals.
Not only do I signal all changes, but:
1) I signal BEFORE I begin to start to change lanes, so that other drivers can actually get some warning.
2) I look over my shoulder, left or right, before changing lanes. There are blind spots on both sides.
#2 has saved me from trouble a number of times, when drivers entered from a side ramp or managed to sneak into my blind spot.
It's amazing how unconscious drivers are about driving exactly in your left or right blind spots.

I get irritated when my GPS says "take the next roundabout", I think "there's no circus anywhere near here!"

I grew up near Worcester and Leicester (Wuster and Lester), those names seem to throw many non-massh... er..locals.
Those are easy, I used to work for the Brits. More like “Billerica”, which any sane person would pronounce “bill-air-e-ca”, not “bill-ricka.”
My partner lived there, and she laughed like a hyena when I pronounced it the first time.
My guess is the Venn diagram of people who don't signal and people who don't wear masks to prevent the spread of covid is a perfect circle.
I do think most people pronounce it like Billrica now that i think of it. Have you learned to paak the caa in the garaage yet?
Lol - she’s originally from the Cape, so she doesn’t have a strong accent. But all of her friends and neighbors do (she lives in Reading now,) and I have to watch my smirks.
Not only signal, but always LOOK over your shoulder before switching lanes. You can set your mirrors to eliminate a blind spot, but even so. Always look. It will save your ass one day.
Also, I just bought a 2000's Pontiac/Toyota car which has automatic headlights that come on at dusk. This is cool if the extra circuitry never fails. If you check the statistics on that, headlights should always be on, even in full daylight. In daylight they serve like extra "reflectors" , increase the chances of another driver seeing you.

Well that's just it: some of the people who SAY they're doin it right all the time are not counting the times that they don't. Think of the times you get cut off and respond to the guy with dismay and they look at you like "what?" Dude didn't even know he did it. Then goes home and tells his wife about all the jerks on the road today.
