I'd like to join this. I used to own a Pearl Target Series kit that I played for 3 years. Sold those a while ago though.

BORN a drummer and after a work accident and 29 surgeries on my ankles, I had to shift to bass. I still drum (better than i play bass) but eventually my right ankle won't work at all if it's even still there.
I actually had a Gibson Grabber, purchased new in 1975 along with an Ampeg B-15, but it didn't hold my interest the way drumming did naturally.

Born a drummer - I hear that! Glad you still play too! Bummer that your ankles act up after a while. But at least you can still play. And I doubt playing the bass agitates them nearly as much as the drums.

Drummer on Acoustic for over 20 Yrs. then Roland E-Drummer for the last 5 Yrs. and Bassist for the last 5 Yrs. as well... and enjoying every minute of it..

How are the Rolands treating you? I love Roland stuff! I have a couple of their synths and one of their keyboard amps (that works great for electric bass, btw). What are you using to amplify you drums?

Sorry about that, My Bad.. I love Roland stuff, people always say its expensive but its like they say Ya get what Ya pay for.. I'm running about 550 Watts out ( split between three different amps ) and I have 2-Mackie Monitors on stands facing me so I can hear..

I played drums in my high school years (80's) with an old Fibes set - do they make these anymore? Picked up bass when I turned 40. Started playing bass in church for a year or two. Our church has a Roland digital drum set. Sat and played on it for a few songs one night at a rehearsal and the rest is history. I now am part of a rotation on both the drums and bass. I love playing both. Bought a Yamaha digital set for practice at home as well.

I am also a drummer who became a bassist. Still play a nice set of Yamahas with Zildjians and Paistes. Bought a P-bass back in '77 which I still have. Had a beautiful fretless Rickenbacker stolen from me. Also play a Schecter Studio 5 and a Hofner Beatle bass. I also own several guitars, a fiddle, a double bass and a synth.

Push on, brother! The drummer for the Violent Femmes stands while drumming and has a funky little kit tailored to his style - not much legwork there. And of course there's always the Def Leppard drummer with one arm. You can do it!
Started drums @ 10, bass @ 18 and only recent started playing music.

Sweet idea for a club! Can I join? I've been playing drums for 25+ years and picked up the bass seriously about 5 years ago. Kids and life slow down the music-making, but I can't complain. I'm a stay-at-home Dad of three and they've started to play as well!
