Drunkest Guy at the bar

Back in the 1980s in NYC a group of yuppie guys- the clueless ex jock kakhi pants type. You know they call each other "guy" and their "buds".
One of the drunks thought he should show off for his friends by "mocking" the band and fans by getting in our faces and mockingly dance like a spazz.
So I m kicked him in the forehead.
Should have seen him dance then.

You kicked him in the forehead? Hell, I'm a black belt and can't do that! I'm jealous...
Either way, not bad!

My first paying gig was in a 3-piece bar band that played most Sat nights at the same place. I was 19 and the other 2 were 18, so we were still wet behind the ears. One night, during our last set we watched 3 guys take the middle of the dance floor and 2 of them helped their obviously tanked buddy (now on his hands and knees) stand on his head. More or less, they were just holding his legs up for him. Then, with much encouragement from the crowd, friend #3 appears with a shot glass and a lighter. Moments later we watch, still playing of course, as they pour the flaming shot down into his open mouth. Immediately, friends #1 and #2 let go of his legs and he's flat on the floor. Crowd is going wild. Friends go back to the bar and the dancers just move around him as he lays there passed out. DGATB for sure.

I did a gig many many years ago at a Holiday Inn. This drunk guy sits at a table right in front of center stage. He stares at the woman singing for us for an uncomfortably long time. Then, he finishes his drink and eats his glass.

I was doing a dj gig many years ago , before Hong Kong was handed back to china. The gig was the final hurrah of the Hong Kong police officers rugby club , so some drunkeness was too be expected. Every song request was accompanied by a crowd set piece. For instance Surfing USA caused all the men to get on their hands and knees and the wives and girlfriends competed to see who could "surf" on their partners the longest. The night culminated in some Status Quo song where the fattest man there dropped his trousers and pants and had a full pint poured down his crack ,into the open mouth of his prone colleague. During this performance the crowd repeatedly shouted"anal chug anal chug"

At this place we were doing open mikes on a semi-regular basis there was a guy who showed up drunk every time, got drunker, and would yell out the lyrics to songs (incorrectly) from the bar until somebody yelled at him to STFU. Then he would try to come up to the drum kit and bang on the cymbals with his hands until somebody dragged him away. He never did any harm and was a happy drunk but he was pretty annoying. No big deal.

As for how to handle drunks who jump on stage, Maynard Keenan of Tool demonstrates the proper technique. Note how he doesn't let it stop him from singing:

Best band name ever

I had an experience many years ago, where an ex-singer got up to sit in, and was hammered. Of course he sounded like crap, and in between songs when it was quieter, someone in the crowd (at the top of his lungs) screams" GET OFF THE STAGE...YOU SUCK"...this drunk singer grabs the mic and at the top of his lungs screams "EFF YOU MOFO!!!" (i cleaned it up...lol), and throws a full can of budwieser at this guy, hitting him and covering several people around him with beer...this set off a full on bar fight that could have been a scene in the movie "road house"...and not surprisingly, we were never asked to play at this club again...

My band's most regular drunk, the guy who seems to live at our best venue, is probably our best fan and biggest supporter. I feel very fortunate about that. He boosts our business. I only hope that he doesn't look at us one night and see a swarm of spiders coming at him.

There are some hilarious stories in here, worthy of comedy sketches and movie scenes.
