You are both right. But, for avoiding yanking a cable, I use a 3" Levy's strap that has a snap on it and a leather loop that goes around the cable and snaps to the strap, so the cable is secured to the strap and it won't yank out. It has been working fine since about 1990 (+/-). Using an adapter, it would pull out and you might be in the middle of the song. And I disagree with using an adapter, also. Every electrical connection reduces signal to some degree.yes and the decoupling saves your cable and your bass from damage from stepping on the cord and yanking it. I bought three, I can lose two before buying more. I can't believe you are disagreeing about using an adaptor, but that's TB........
