Duct Tape Saves The Day

In the words of Red Green, “if it doesn’t move and you want it to, use WD40. If it moves and you don’t want it to, use duct tape.”

Yep. Sorta like servicing a 60s era VW Bug.

The master technician’s toolkit consisted of:

screwdriver
set of vise grips
can of 3-in-1 or WD40
wire coat hanger
3 feet stranded picture hanging wire.

For larger repairs you can't beat the combo of Bondo and chicken wire. Knew a guy back in the day who made a spoiler for his car with that stuff. He took his modded ride around town to show it off. Sadly, the victory procession came to an end when he crossed the railroad tracks.

But there’s a better scenario...drummer forgets his bass pedal. Hilarity ensued.

Here in the Netherlands, one well known pop band never used a kick pedal.
The drummer wore wooden shoes and, well, kicked the kick drum.

A couple of my VWs also had clothespins attached to a fuel line. Supposed to prevent 'vapor lock'.
I guess it worked, because I never took them off.
