Dunlop Strings - one word "Wow"

Man, I am telling you the people at Dunlop strings know what they are doing!!!

These strings are awesome!!!

The brightest, clearest nickels and the deepest, fullest stainless steels I have ever played.

I used to think Daddario's were good, but they don't even compare to these Dunlops!

The Dunlop's also play easier and last longer than other strings!

Hmmmm......1st off, I'm glad you've found strings you like, 'k ? but i wasn't aware that Dunlop was manufacturing strings....

i do know that D'Addario makes strings for other marques, so i can't help but wonder: are the Dunlops are actually rebranded D'Addarios ?

- and the answer is a big fat NO!!!

Dunlop makes their own strings -

Click on "How We Make Them" and you can see they have their own winding machines.

- and the guy who is behind it all is Les O'Connor (former production manager for DR Strings).

No problem.

I just wanted to get the word out, especially to ALL the guys who liked DR strings when they first came out.

Many people have been noticing lately that DR strings "Ain't what they used to be", so if you are looking for something better you may want to give the Dunlops a try.

You just might be surprised people!!!

Also found out that Dunlop makes Mike Lull and Elrick strings!!!

I tried the Dunlops a few months back. They had the perfect feel (texture/tension) , but I was disappointed with the tone. They had the mids and highs, but the low end was missing. There was a big drop off in tone with the low b and e, with both the nickels and stainless. I had to put the Carvins back on.

Funny you should mention Carvin strings cause I just ordered an LB70 and I also ordered 2 sets of their strings (nickel and stainless steel) because I have never tried their strings before.

I tried the Carvins just before the Dunlops (this past week) because I had heard they are made by Labella. Well, I have to say they are the most lifeless strings I have ever used and I will never use their strings again. Both sets of Carvins were in the trash in less than an hour.

I'm planning to send in a set of Dunlops to be installed on my new LB70 (will be finished in a couple more weeks) and I'm hoping Carvin will like them so much they will switch their string supplier from Labella to Dunlop!

Well I've been praising Dunlop strings for a while now, I love them. And yes they do in fact make their own, and they make strings for other companies.

Also agree about Carvin strings being pretty much lifeless, but to each his own. You have to find the right string for the right bass. Dunlops are very punchy and growly, so I can see how those who don't like that wouldn't like them. That's why they leave it to the other companies to make flats :)

i'm a dunlop user and i agree with how great these strings are.

I get mine from [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] or from whoever has the best price or free shipping. The Guitar Center closest to me stocks only .45-.105 sets (of ANY brand!) and I use the .40's on two of my basses. They have those .45's for $20.

I tried them and found they were not as good as the brands that I like to use.

I tried a set of Mike Lull steels and they're awesome strings.

Dunlop strings suck. :spit:

Stop saying that they are good.

Your bass will catch fire if you use them.

If you guys all keep saying they are good Dunlop will find out and they wont be 20 bucks anymore.

DR's are more expensive so logically they are way better........
