Dunlop strings?

Has anyone tried Dunlop strings. I thought they made golf balls. That is the only brand I can find that have (flat wound, 5 string, 40/120) There's not a big selection for flat wound's. Sorry should have put this in the String Forum.

Different Dunlop :D They’ve been a well known producer of effects and accessories for decades, and their strings, particularly the Super Bright series, are very popular around here.

Great thank you. That will be my next set then. I'm a flat wound guy. Its hard to shop around to see what you like @ $40.00 a set.
My most recent set was DR Black Beauties 40/120. They didn't have black 40/120 in flat's. I bought them for the black look for my bass I customized. I like them but I don't know if I like them because they are black beauties or because they are 40/120's. Dunlop has the 40/120 in flats.

The Dunlop flats in the same gauge will be quite different. I think the black beauties are a black coating over rounds. I have friend that loves them, but I’ve never tried them. I have used D’Addario and, La Bella, and Roto black tapes. I liked all of them for their own reasons, but I think the La Bella tapes were my favorite.

As far as flats, the Dunlop’s are awesome. I’ve never tried their rounds, but I have the flats on long and short scale Basses... love them both.

I use Dunlop flats on a 5-string and love them. They were recommended to me by Mike Frost and this is the only one of my basses I want to play now. Great tone and expression.

I have always used D'Addario 45-100 only because they sound good on my Rickenbacker. Which I have only owned one bass for years. My Rickenbacker. When you own a Rick it's hard to like anything else. Up until about two year ago. Now I own 11 different basses. All Neck Thru. (yes my wife and daughter think I have a problem) They have all came with round wound when I get them. So, I have had an opportunity to branch out on some different kind of flats.
The DR's I like, (coated not flats)
LaBella I like. Flats
Dunlop on order. Flats
Ernie Ball Slinky Flats. I do NOT like, they stick to you fingers.
Here is my bass I put the Black Beauties on.
