Dunwich Amplification General Discussion

Did an expo this weekend in my hometown in CT. 3 times we got an ask to turn down. Seems the low end resonance was carrying across the entire venue. People thought it was some kind of massive bass amp rig.

Most of that shagery happened when I had the POG2 on with Oct 1 Down on.

Some comments from Patrick on the 125B WF

"Yes, so far I really like it! I hadn't had much time to play with it until yesterday. It has a very huge and unique sound. It doesn't just sound like a hot rodded muff, which I was getting tired of. This fuzz has a really nice bloom. Between the Lo, Depth and Blend there is more than enough low end to go around.

At first I wasn't sure if the blend was needed. I was playing with it all the way wet and it sounded great. I dialed it back to about 2:00 wet and I really like it that way. Adding a touch of clean really "classes" up the tone. It sends a message "hey my tone is aggressive AF but I also know what the hell I'm doing" If a person likes the clean tone of their bass you can have your cake and eat it too. Very cool."

As I mentioned I plan on doing a short run next month. Another one of those generally TB only related things.

Nice, I'll definitely get on that.

Yep, this pedal kicks a$$! I have a short-list of pedals that get filed under never-sell. In no particular order that list is: MBD-1, ODB 125b, WF125b and my BAT Rev68 I built with help from Mr. Mark.

All fuzzes were starting to sound the same to me. I was getting fuzzed out. Fuzzes I've tried: BMP (no good on bass), EHX Green Russian Reissue (best fuzz for the $), S&S Bluebeard ( cool, but simply obnoxious BM), BG EAND (close to a BB,with extra features, pretty great), BAT Rev SB (awesome, can also be a cleanish tubey sounding always-on). There's probably a couple I'm forgetting.

The Wizard stands out with a menacing, but huge and refined(?) tone. You can tell a lot of thought was put into the design. Tons of bottom, not muddy (tracks well), has a really cool bloom, and it does not feed back! I love that about it. The sustain fades out forever and slowly dies with no squeal IME. The blend is great. I really dig the clean sound of my Warwick fretless and I can dial a touch of that back in and hear that faint tone of the clean fundamental coming through. I suck at reviewing things. Thats the best I got. :)

Next: An etched Volt Thrower 125b with all clipping options and a clean blend...hopefully :)

I could probably add blend to the VT125B but the issue with having all 6 clipping options is the size of the rotary. Its so large that it makes it difficult to put into a 125B
I believe in function over form.........

Full function VT's with 3 band eq and a blend for everyone!!!!!

Please tell me this is the final color scheme.......soooooo good!

That makes sense. For clipping, what about two 3-way mini toggles wired in series for clipping combos?

Dont think that would achieve exactly what you expect. I also would be fairly tight on room so the pcb real-estate is fairly limited. You might be able to get 4 options with two 2 way toggles since the middle positions are no-connects to the circuit.

I'm pretty sure Donahue just mentally ordered his next pedal.
