Damn....why isn't this sold when I checked. Add me to the several people who have it in their cart as I ponder if I really want to spend the money. If only Broughton would drop the Archetype today and it would instasell out then I'd know I have the funds ready to go.

I’ll never be able to fully embrace this virtual internet dibs thing. When I was younger, Dibs was a transactional, physical thing. There was DNA involved. I’ve done well adapting to the future, in most regards, but Dibs, without any sweat or grease just feels empty.
I agree. I used to obey Dibs back in the day, then I learned that people just throw out Dibs and don’t mean it. Dibs is supposed to mean, say the word and I’ll send payment...but in reality what dibs means is “that gives me GAS and I want it but I have committed to nothing and in the event that you reach out to me, I probably won’t buy it”
Mix that along with the sheer volume of dibs that people put out there and it actually becomes a turn off. Not to pick on any specific individuals but there are folks here that have more dibs out around town than pedals that they actually own. Dibs should be like one or two pedals in my opinion. The stuff you are actively looking for. I don’t take any dibs seriously anymore but if I was to actually let go of a pedal and I wanted a fast sale I might start by pinging those who said dibs just for ease of sale but I fully expect those individuals to not be the buyers.
the only thing I consider that I would truly dibs at this point is the Archetype preamp. I have the funds ready to go for it and if someone reached out to me with a sale I’d buy it. There are other things that have popped up that I would buy instantly if it were made available to me but I don’t spend my entire day here and don’t have web alerts on the classifieds so there are lines of non buying dibs’ers in front of me. It’s kinda like a bad joke that has gotten out of hand.
Well, same thing when I was a kid, it was just more intimate back then.
