Pros have begun to ship. A few dealers have a\them and more will be coming in the next few weeks
Hey Mike,
The Pro spec looks nice. More power than the 800, and per Tom's post, less hiss are both a move in the right direction for this model. Also, using the SMPS to get the weight down while increasing the power is also a good move.
More power, lighter weight, and quiet operation in a box the size of the old 500... pretty cool move.
Good luck with these. They look really nice.

Anybody know what happened to the voltage selector on back? Guess I can't do the PRO in Europe?

got this from the EA site, and I'm sure it's in with the owner's manual:
"Line Voltage: 100/120 - 240 Internally Selected"
so Europe will be fine to tour.

Congrats! You can do the Pro in Europe. There is an internal fuse that needs to be switched and you'll need the correct mains cord. The proper fuses are indicated in the manual

Well, it's got the show. . . but has it got the "go"?
I hooked up my PRO and hoped to put it through all its paces tonight. However, it is getting too late to crank the bass here. So I will have to stick to my initial observation until I can really play around with it this weekend.
i saw that bass specialties just got one in. i didnt try it, but dang, that sucker was light for a two space rack amp.
This Pro thing inspires maor GAS - then I remember that I rarely ever take the Micro 300 up over 1/2 ... Piezo equipped acoustic guitar on one channel and Godin Acoustibass or A4 on the other sittin' on top of a Bag End 1x15 co-ax.
The Micro 300 is just the most practical thing. If it's possible it's even less sexy and more practical than my old Bassbone - that was the former record holder in the 'totally not sexy but emminently practical' category for me anyway ...
Mine went back for a power supply upgrade a couple of weeks back. I had to drag my ART and Crown rig to a gig last week. Lord I was hating that ... Gary has it on the way back and darn but I hope it get's here quick! I love that little amp!

My PRO (made by Gary
) doesn't contain the exact parts that the production ones do. So Mike @ EA being the stand up GREAT guy that he is has offered to bring my amp current and upgrade some parts. When I get it back, I can tell you more. I think this really illustrates (yet again) EA's commitment to customer service. I simply cannot say enough good things about them!
My initial impression of the PRO:
Generally class D amps don't sound like the toroid of a lead sled. They usually leave me wanting more in the basement. That's not the case here, these PRO amps SPEAK.
Does anyone know if it has been tested and is it stable down to 2 ohms operation like the the iamp800 ?
