Double Bass EA Wizzy iAmp 500 vs. Bergantino IP112

@ first thanks that you took the time for this shoot out.

sine they from the shop didnt give me correct answers on voltage,
Im probably better of asking you about the inputs and impedances.

1. what input impedance does the IP-112 have
2. what inputs does it have and XLR ?
3. is it possible to get the software to program the dsp ?
if yes I would get the IP 112 right away.
I have 20 years of experience building Loudspeakers, mostly for fun, but
still in a professional way.

I`ll go either Iamp wizzy or IP-112
you said that the IP doesent change the sound of the instrument, while the Iamp wizzy set up does. why I tryed the Iamp wizzy here in europe,
I was surprised how good it soundet, but I also thought it was not exactly the sound of my bass. But it soundet darn good. Allthough my bass is 120 years and carved, but not a total perfect Orchestral Instrument and rather beat up It might nort be the best Idea to have a rig wich reproduces tone exactly.
The IP is tempting because of the fact all in one and its simple I could use a ebs tube driver for the slab and the DSP is a good thing beecause it can disolve iregular frequency response of a driver in a cab much better than a EQ. The even resonse makes it sound that good.

It is very, very low, like under 100k, I think.

XLR only, though there is another XLR loop through, for 'daisy chaining' multiple IP cabs (and it can also send a signal to the board, though you do not have seperate level control).

3. is it possible to get the software to program the dsp ?

Anything is possible, but I do not believe that you would get this from Jim. For every skilled person such as yourself, there are 100 others who would screw it up!

The Wizzy is somewhat colored, and EA readily admits that. I find it to be a coloration that works very well with my particular upright (and it works well for my style on electric, as well), but the IP series are undoubtedly less colored (I would say pretty much entirely uncolored) and more tonally balanced from top to bottom.

As you can tell, I am hugely impressed by the Bergantino IP line. This does not diminish (excuse the pun, Mike!) my love for all things EA, and the Wizzy in particular. I really like both products (and the people behind them), and I tried to give my honest take on each, above.
