Gig this Saturday night at The Hill - 18+ and no cover!

JakeLeg, a killer band from Virginia, is opening for us at 10:30ish, and we (Tame the Hurricane) should be going on around 12:15. Come check us out if you're in the area and like hearing original acts!

Enjoy the new stage location, (at Throttle Down) it's the same stage but they dragged it across the room. Would love to come but we bought a house and are moving very soon! Good luck you guys rock!

Did they move it again...it's not down at the end of the building where the pool tables used to be?

Hope they didn't put it on the shortside again

Opening "Oklahoma!" tonight up at LMU in Harrogate. We run tonight through Saturday night at 7:30, and Thurs-Sat next week at 7:30 each night also.

We never did get a drummer for the show, so it is the pianist/music director and me for the show band. It actually sounds very good with the minimal instrumentation. I'm playing the Douglas fretless violin bass.

Not much action on ETTB this month- everybody who's subscribed, check in and let us know what's going on as we head into the holiday season.

"Oklahoma!" is going well so far. This weekend, I have Thursday/Friday nights at 7:30 and Saturday at 2 PM and 7:30. Nice to take a break from the driving to Harrogate for a few, but looking forward to picking it back up on Thursday. I switched to the Zenith bass as the Douglas sounds like the bridge intonation is out. Either that, or I'm not that good at playing fretless on a short-scale bass! The Zenith has a lot bigger sound due to the 34" scale and the piezo pickup.

Then, on Monday next week, I start techs for "Little Women" at Oak Ridge Playhouse. It's Thanksgiving eve through the following Sunday, and then again the next weekend. More to come. No family feast with turkey this year for me, I'll be playing the ORP show that night and hanging out in town on my own. Probably will be a pizza'n'beer night! So no fears about Turklops death visits in the middle of the night. Whew! :)

Lost Creek Shakers have been pretty much adopted by the local Elks Lodge! Played there on 11/4 and we're booked there three times in December - 2nd for the regular monthly "Band Friday", 10th for their Christmas party and, of course, NYE. Had to turn down a couple of NYE gigs already. Anyone not booked for NYE, PM me and I can give you some contact info for one of the places that we had to turn down because we were already booked. Also have a PA gig, lead guitar and I are doing for a local high school choir concert on 12/5. We have had some inquiries from both directions, Knoxville and Tri-Cities, so hopefully, it'll be a busy winter.

My band is currently in the studio and we're working on our first EP. We're not gigging for the rest of the year (besides the occasional house party), but we currently have a few gigs on the calender at The Hill, Pres Pub, The Roaming Gnome, Longbranch, and Barley's for January and February. We also have a few fraternity gigs lined up at UT, UTC, MTSU, and Vandy for the next school semester. Overall, it looks like we're going to have a productive 2012 :)

Keep us updated, Code. I don't know if the other guys here don't have gigs, or are just not committed to posting gigs on here, or what. Mainly, I think most of them aren't subscribed to this thread and are only posting here when they see the thread show up in the "New posts" link on Talkbass.

I have finished the Oak Ridge show "Little Women" and am currently enjoying some well-deserved downtime after playing nine theatre productions this year.

Thanks, Wyatt, for the recognition. It's not the same as gigging every weekend in bands, the way things were back in the 80's and 90's, but the theatre gigs are a very focused, intense experience for 2-3 weeks.

I had hoped to play for some shows up at CCT, since I had worked with Ron, the music director, a lot back in the early 2000's when he was a master's student at UT, but it never has worked out and won't at this point. I haven't talked with Ron in a number of years now. I imagine the guys you know that play there will play there every chance they can. The money is excellent. CCT and Clarence Brown at UT are definitely the best-paying theatre gigs in the region.
