The Lost Creek Shakers hit the Elks Lodge in Morristown again tonight for their Valentines Dance. Added 4 tunes to the setlist we're hoping will rock the dance floor; Brick House, Superstition, Heard it Through the Grapevine and Already Gone (not really appropriate for Valentines Day, or maybe it is for those attending stag).
I got the green light on using the church building for the ET GTG. I'm leaving for DC tonight, so everyone throw some dates at me and I'll try to get something set up in concrete the next couple of days.
Saturday nights are open, unfortunately, until May as of now. (We're planning to take advantage of the lull to record a demo CD.) I can make just about any date.
I think the informal consensus is to try to do it on a Sunday afternoon. Most of the TB GTG's i have been a part of, or followed on here have been a Sunday affair. Anyone interested please PM me next week, and I'll put a date out there this time next Sunday night. Since it will be the first official ET TB GTG if two or more players show up it will be a success and something to build on! Lets do it, no more excuses lol!

Hey guys! As you may know I am now working with Brubaker. Brute basses will be at Corner Music in a couple of weeks. I know this is the East club, but can any of you give me info on a good bass dealer or shop in Memphis? Thanks!

Tom, there is a "Tennessee Bassist Club" thread here on Talkbass that hasn't been active lately, but there were a lot more of the Nashville/middle Tennessee guys there. Brian Barrett used to follow that list as well. You might want to try posting there.

I'm in. I actually missed the drama, but noticed Matt's change in avatar recently. Just thought he was paying tribute to JimmyM. Haven't had a lot of conversation with Jimmy (I normally check this thread and the CAS thread at the very least, then scan the home page to see if anything catches my eye), but I have enjoyed reading many of his posts. Here's hoping he's allowed back in soon. Meanwhile, I'll raise a glass in his honor!
So my band won a spot in that Hard Rock competition that I posted a few pages back, and we actually won our qualifying round last night! You can check out our full performance here if you want - it's all original music, so you be the judge if modern rock music is dead

Not much happened this weekend, but I do have a trio gig this Tuesday at Goalpost Tavern on the strip. February has been a bit of a dead month as far as gigs are concerned.
