East Tennessee Talkbass

Radio Rehab will be at The V in Lake City again the 23rd and 24th. It's a fun place, great food and dance floor. Folks (including some attractive young "girls going wild") danced all night for us.

We'll also be at Lincoln's in Oak Ridge on the 31st. Great family friendly place with good food.

I'm in KVL today, looking to by some tubes for a bass amp I'm working on - any info on the selection at Rik's, or other places? Specifically looking for 6L6's and thinking Russian, altho advice is welcomed. Stopped in at GC last night and dealt with a "no-nothing with an attitude" who was less than helpful.

Wanted to contact MV but I've lost the number....

Hey Larry, glad you made it into town. I wish I'd known you were coming, I could have rearranged things on my end. I just got back home a few mins ago from being out all morning, and then am getting ready to head to Maryville to hear Jeff play at Vienna Coffee with Karli.

Maybe next time! I'll PM you with contact info.

You should check out JJ brand tubes. For the money, they are awesome and dependable. I got mine through tubedepot.com . They carry all kinds of brands, even NOS. As long as you can be patient while it ships (about a week). Just my .02...

Now, that was a good time at Vienna Coffeehouse tonight in Maryville. Rained most of the evening, but there was still a good crowd to hear Karli, Allen and Jeff play.

I had fun hanging with Jody and Vann, who sat with Teresa and me all eve. We drank coffee and laughed a lot, shared band and music stories. Even talked a little gear. The ever-gracious Jeff and Laurel made all of us feel quite welcome.

Jeff played quite well. We kept after him to "turn the bass up" but actually, as Jody said, the mix was good. Karli is a very impressive singer for her young age - 15.

Just a lot of fun, and I really enjoyed getting to know Jody and talking with Jeff and hearing him play tonight.

Jody, Michael, it meant the world to me for you guys to come out on a rainy Saturday! It doesn't take much for me to get inspired to play, but when you know your bass brethren are in the house, it makes you bare down a little harder!

There was another bass player in the audience, Barry Cochran. I used to alternate sometimes at church way back at the start of River Oaks. Very awesome fellow and a friend, sorry I didn't get to introduce you guys.

Michael, tell Teresa I was very glad she came and was happy to meet her, Jody tell Vann thanks again for coming.

I'm hoping Michael and I can get our brides out in a couple of weeks to catch some Radio Rehab at Lincoln's! That would be a fun evening as well! Maybe pick up a couple more ETTB bros to attend.

Again, thanks a lot you guys, it meant a lot to me!
Jeff

Jeff and I talked up going to hear Radio Rehab at Lincoln's on the 31st. I hope to be able to make it in, I have to be up in Kentucky earlier in the day for my mom's birthday party.

I did want to throw it out for another possible ETTB hangout opportunity.
