East Tennessee Talkbass

Mike, are you saying you are not going to be playing with Bobby and Frank and that band?

Actually I was referring to another group that Jeff jammed with a few weeks ago, but for the time being, I'm not playing with anyone. I enjoyed playing with Bobby and Frank - have jammed with them a few times now, but for some reason it just didn't click this last time. We had a new singer and keyboardist - even though all were decent musicians, the chemistry just wasn't there. I'm working on another lineup right now with some others that I've played with a few months ago. We'll see.

Busy. Played a weekend in JC weekend before last.

Got invited to play in a P&W band. I am working my butt off as I have zero experience with 1 5 3 and it's various iterations. It has been a major eye opener and tremendously rewarding this far.

Making a horrific racket on the 51 Kay.

And less than 6 weeks until my beloved Dingwall Super P5 arrives.

That's about it.

Still trying to put something together. We do have drums, vocals, keys, and of course yours truly on bass. We're auditioning guitarists the week of October 7th, so if you guys have any guitarist friends looking for a band, let me know.

I have a few gigs coming up with Karli Kravat, but they are in jeopardy if we don't find a guitarist soon. I have some feelers out, but I've exhausted my connections, everybody is working that wants to work....

Won't be the end of the world if we don't find someone, I can set her up with pre-recorded tracks, but it kills an opportunity for me to get valuable upright playing time in.

If only guitarists were as dependable as players.....;)

Hope you and Karli can find a guitarist soon, Jeff. The gig I heard at the coffeehouse in Maryville was quite nice. If you can keep the ensemble going for a while, it's going to be really sweet down the road.

On another note, I checked to see if Jody has posted in the TB thread about I play bass behind a hot chick singer (I think that's what it's called! I will go see..) and he hasn't yet. Get on it, Jody! Hmm.. you too, Jeff..

She's a very talented and sweet young lady, her parents and I are good friends and I admire the support they give her. It means a lot to a kid when your parents get behind what you are doing, I know from personal experience!

Okay guys, she's "hot" meaning smoking hot voice, Christ centered values, and I already mentioned she is a very sweet girl. I love playing bass for her, a delightful departure from a lot of the stuff I'm used to playing.
