Hang on guys, upon closer inspection, it appears to be the real deal. Who else but Leo would have personally invented the two octave fretlessboard overhang... in burly maple... in 1975... I mean, 73... I mean, 75... and then given it to Jack who gave it to Geddy who gave it to Jaco who gave it to this hero who, unlike everyone else in the story, won't give it away?

I put it to you. This thing is realer than McGyver's mullet.

Jaco was my bandmate in a heavy metal group called Tower of Power during the early 60's. He played drums at the time. One day after band practice in 1976 when were driving to Ontario, NJ in my 1987 Honda Civic, we walked into Joe's Music on 3rd Street. He found a guitar made by Fender, and it's the one in this listing. He picked it up and made many famous recordings with Parliament in the 50's. After years of frustration not being a good enough bass player, he gave it to me in 1972 to keep under my bed for 32 years, which is when I brought it out to sell. Jaco passed away from severe IBS 20 years later in 1998, when he told me that I needed to sell this bass in 2007.
