I'm surprised the bass is still listed. No red flag around the activity? Price? Description? Even my report?
I know a guy that knows a guy who's sister's boss knows a guy that has a cousin who's dry cleaner plays jai alai with a girl that went to cooking school with a guy that grew up in an orphanage with a guy that fixed the car of a guy who's ex-wife dated Jaco's barber to whom Jaco originally gave the bass.

Mykal Ali has been involved in all aspects of music since the age of seven. He began playing the trumpet, while studying from a principal player in the Houston Symphony, and going on to win many awards and competitions throughout school. Soon, he studied with famed jazz cornetist, Clark Terry. Later, high school brought an experience that allowed him to switch to the electric bass after witnessing Bootsy Collins playing with the legendary James Brown. This meeting motivated young Ali, so much that he was scouted to join the Godfather of Soul’s Revue, three years later and age 14, replacing Collins. This led to many concerts with popular artists like Lynn Collins, the BarKays, Parliment-Funkadelic, the Chi-Lites, Sly and the Family Stones, the Ovations, Wild Honey, Dr. John, etc. Earlier, Mykal recorded for a number of people including Arnett Cobb and Bobby “Blue” Bland for ABC Dunhill. Being under the wings of Mr. Bland’s long-time arranger and director, Joe Scott, Mykal learned a lot about studio arranging. The young bassist/ pianist started to branch out experimenting with various forms of music, including jazz. Being greatly influenced by the likes of Charlie Mingus, Miles Davis, Slam Steward, Ron Carter, Quincy Jones, and Charlie “Bird” Parker (who played with Ali’s cousin, Big Jay McShann), Ali took up yet another instrument, acoustic bass. In his junior year of college, he was awarded one of several outstanding musician awards by the National Association of Jazz Eductors’, which were presented to him by his relative, Jay McShann, at the Witchita and Notre Dome Jazz Festivals. At TSU he studied 120 instruments including piano. Though Ali initially dropped out of high school to record and tour at one point, he went to achieve great academic success graduating from Texas Southern University in both Music and Music Education; lastly attaining a Master’s in Multiculturalism from Loyola Marymount University. He is not only an accomplished musician, but also a well-rounded person, formerly a part of Los Angeles Theatre Center. He has honorable reviews from publications, organizations, schools and colleagues. Has been a part of cultural arts councils in New York, Chicago, Houston, and New Orleans. Worked with the South Bay Conservatory for the Arts at El Camino College, and works as a guest lecturer with many schools and colleges such as USC, UCLA, Pasadena City College and Cypress College. Ali has worked with many artists of different styles: MC Shann, Chante Moore, Milton Berle, Lightin’ Hopkins, Juice Jones, Grover Washington, Jr., Bo Didley, Ellis Marsalis, Stevie Wonder and many others. I was always told that Leo Fender sold his company to CBS in 1965, and that he went on to form Music Man in 1975. I remember him telling me (when I was a student at Cal-State Fullerton in 1969) that sales were so slow in 1975-76 that he had to go back to Fender and get work assembling basses to make ends meet.

The seller has 100% positive feedback for one transaction. I'm thinking of offering the full buy it now price with an additional 25% kicker. But, I'll have to send him the check in the amount of $100K and have him send me the difference.
