Nice! I was wondering when someone else would pick one of those up and post about here. I think it might be my favourite Stingray in my collection.
It’s actually “Plumkin”. It color shifts from deep purple to orangish red depending on light angle.
Sorry, I thought that user was commenting about the bass pictured above yours. I have the plumpkin as well.
You guys are killin me with that plumkin color, maybe I can get MM to make one in a 5r!
I love mine more and more each time I play it. I was considering over the last few weeks of exchanging it for a 4HH but I like this 4H too much and I don't even slap. It's just so zoned in and I'm not sure I'd get that exact same thing with the extra pickup stuck in there. I've not even grown tired of the color I picked (Maroon Mist), it still appeals to me as much as when I first saw it opening up the case. The plastic is still on the pick guard, I think that will be coming off soon to make it official. I hardly every pick up any of my other 4 basses any more and when I do they sound a bit boomy, muffled, dull and unexciting to me.I’m very pleased with mine for now, but I can’t help but think....what will it sound like with a pre 2018 pup?
So the bassist in the band at the Dallas Washington game halftime show was playin one of the champagne sparkle 4HH Specials. Looked great under stage lights!

Question for those who have had one of these for a couple of years now :
How is the black hardware holding up?
Any paint flaking off, and if so, how does it look with the metal showing through?
How robust is the black coating, with regards to impacts, and the kinds of toxic juices / secretions that humans constantly produce?

2 new BFR SR Specials. I really like that SR5 with no pickguard, but would also be really tempted to hear the passive SR4.
My one criticism of the SR4 is that it has alot going on with it. 3 different coloured wood finishes, plus a black pickguard and white pickup cover. I can't yet decide if I like it or not. I don't mind the contrast of the wood in the body, neck, and fretboard, but I think I'd like it more with a black pickup cover.

When I switch to the series (middle) position on my SR5, there’s a hum whenever I’m not touching the strings. Sometimes I have a tendency to rest my thumb on the pickup, and whenever that happens the hum gets ten times louder. Kind of like touching the tip of a plugged-in jack cable. Grounding issue?
Yeah, I am really curious about that passive Ray. I might have to try it out if and when any happen to make it north of the border.
