Interesting.

…in part because I never expected to have case GAS and yet I now do.

The neck on that example is amazing. I imagine they'll all be pretty similar.

Not a big fan of how that particular body grain goes with it, but that will obviously vary. Black hardware with sunburst has always looked fantastic, more manufacturers should do it stock. Sadowsky often does it and has for a long time - I've always loved it.

Imagine the pricing if they offered a lot of colors as it's $2,500 for a factory made, non-custom, bolt together parts bass in a few colors.
I really like the product and the QC but that's getting very close to custom bass pricing.

Here in Italy, brand new Specials go for 3> k Euros.

Because I never liked white pearloid pickguards (even on Fenders), and the gold hw is a bit "too much" for my tastes.
The finish itself looks nice (never seen one in person), but I prefer "deeper" and more vivid colours :)

Actually, I'm a bit bothered by the choice of body woods. My 5 appears to have a poplar/basswood body.
No ash for sure, nor alder. It does the job and I wouldn't have imagined if I didn't take a look in the neck pocket, but..

Don't know what to think about that change. The old HSC is a pain in the *** to carry, but it's sturdy and it would properly protect the bass, for example, in the trunk of a lorry. Mine did the job when my Classic got shipped from England down to Italy: they sent out the bass with the case AND NO BOX, only wrapped in nylon :eek:

For gigs and less potentially harmful situation, a gigbag would be ok.

So it's a Mono Vertigo that is a side load instead of top load?
I've grown to like the top load on smaller stages with less room.
I only use hard cases to ship guitars once I got the Mono.

I like the idea of having a hard case (and actually have one for all but one of my current basses), but I always end up using one of a few different gig bags instead. For rehearsals and basement jams when I'm only bringing one bass, I use an Access Stage 5, which I love. Pricey, but it's the best gig bag I've tried. I also have a Reunion Blues Continental Voyager, which is a close second to the Stage 5.

I always bring two basses to a gig and use a Gator ProGo 2 to carry them. It's nicely padded and is a pretty good buy compared to some two-bass bags. I sometimes regret not springing for the Continental Voyager double, but the Gator seems to be holding up well. But if Access made a two-bass Access 5, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

This new Musicman branded Mono bag looks really interesting, though, and really well padded. I can see myself trying one out if they end up being sold separately.
