EBMM StingRay Special Club

Ok, so I guess I'm member #9142. Stingray was delivered today. Looks great. I'm booked tonight goaltending, so I'll have to put in the time playing it tomorrow (probably will let in lots of goals because I'll be thinking about this beauty the whole time).

Mmmmmm ... Burnt Ends ... delicious!

They did a good job matching the yellow in the tort to the yellow in the finish. That ties the bass together nicely.
Yeah, I am liking that pg too. I did order a black 3 ply as well. I saw a pic of a burnt ends with one on it and I was sold. Should get that in hand in the next couple of weeks.

That bass looks so nice, I just might have to add a burnt ends to my collection some time. Still going to wait until April to see what new stuff is coming though.

Yeah, I thought about waiting for the new stuff too. The MSRP in Canada is getting up there though, and a price bump is likely, so when I saw this used in the classifieds, I couldn’t resist (pretty much new condition too: there’s not even any clear coat scratches or anything). Sellers on Reverb and eBay are sure trying to take advantage of their temporary scarcity right now.

Ya, I've noticed the prices have been climbing the last few years on pretty much all basses here in Canada. I wouldn't be surprised to see the new EBMM basses going up a bit too. Its a shame there aren't more used ones available here in Canada. I check kijiji pretty regularly and haven't seen much except for mostly SBMM stingrays. Seen the occasional stingray special but they're usually overpriced for a used bass.

Burnt ends is one of the few colors I really liked out of the new colors when they came out, but I ended up with Snowy Night out of the batch which I was not very fond of when I first seen it as the first color scheme revealed to us right here on this forum. But now, several years after its release I actually own it and it's one of my very favorites. I too was going to wait and see what the new colors coming out this April would be, but then I figured there would probably be another price increase and I may possibly not like any of the colors and then a new Snowy Night 4H may be hard to come by. By the way the new Mono bag is awesome! I thought I'd really miss the old style hard case, but now after owning the new soft case, not so much.

Right on. Yeah, I was hoping to snag a new mono case as well, but no dice this time around. Too many black obelisk hardshells taking up space in my house!

I bet that would look even better with a black pickguard. The tort is cool but sort of clashes a bit.

Yeah, I love those 70s sr natural finishes with the black pg (I see you’ve got one in your avatar, nice!) It’ll give it that sort of vibe, I think.

Worth a try! Haha.

I do! I just changed the pickup cover back to black today. God, I love that bass. It’s in Stingray Special weight territory as well. Well under 9 lbs.

There's a REALLLLLLLLY nice white / rosewood Special on Reverb right now. I have personally never seen this color combination, and the only other one I can find on the entire internet is an old Sweetwater discontinued item page.

This would look absolutely amazing with a tortoise guard:

Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay Special 4 H | Reverb

Mus. Not. Buy.

This is another pretty rare color that I like: Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay Special 4 H 2020 - Ghostwood | Reverb

I happen to happily own one of those:

I like the colour (or rather: colours -- they differ with each lighting) very much!

A retailer here in Canada was advertising the one below which is the ghostwood finish but with a rosewood neck. As far as I know, that was never an option so I don't know if this was a mistake or a photoshop error. I kind of wanted it but figured I'd order it and it would be the maple fretboard version that would arrive.
