We made one 4 string and one 5 string for the grand reopening for the Hollywood GC.
Someone grab it!! If I didn't have one already, I would be all over it!
Cool. Assume the 5 string is sold already since not coming up on the site when searching. Would be great to see pics. Too bad they do not have any.

Wow I played another one today and I’m sold. This time it was an HH model. I always said that a stingray should only have one pickup and I’m wrong. There’s a bunch of useable sounds including the classic Ray tone. Now I just have to figure out what color and how to pay for it!

Thanks for the input! I came here because I'm REALLY interested in a Special 5 "HH" model and wanted to know what your opinions are of them. I have a Classic 'Ray 5 and I love it but have always fantasized about a MM 5 w/ a 'Sabre Bass' type set-up and versatility. What are your thoughts about the bottom end tone on these basses. How does the preamp compare w/ the "Classic" pre from a tonal standpoint? Are all the p/u configurations usable (making for a versatile tonal instrument) or do you have to work to get multiple usable tones from them? I literally almost pulled the trigger on one online just now but decided I'm way too old to be so impulsive in a traditional sense. I need to at least 'appear' to be purposeful with this acquisition!! lol Thanks for you time and advice in advance guys!

I’ll tell you that I really just leave the EQ pretty flat and use the switch quite a bit. The variations you can get are all pretty great. They also make effects sound wildly different. I don’t know if it helps you at all but when I do use the EQ I find it’s not as drastic as some so for me that’s more useable. When I want a particular sound it’s pretty intuitive and I don’t fumble around much trying to find it.

Prolly my second fav color offered. Really classy. If it came with RW, I’d be tempted away from yellow.
I ended up sending that one back. It was too heavy for me. I settled on a black/maple one. I am waiting on a pickguard from Quickguards for it. I will post pics once i get that installed.
I am very happy with the bass. When I do my job correctly, the bass really delivers!
