EBMM StingRay Special Club

Has anyone put schaller s locks on their stingray? I just tried put one on and found that the screw is short and a bit thicker, so there was some resistance as I was screwing it in. Honestly it was quite a stressful experience and I’m leaning towards taking it to a shop to get the second one installed

If you can find the older Schaller locks, you can use the original screw and have a perfect fit with zero stress on the body. There are some good things about the new style, but the built-on screw, IMHO, is not one of them . . .

I did, but I did use some aftermarket pins with screws because the screw size is closer to the ones that were installed in mine when I bought it second hand (maybe Dunlop, or maybe stock?)

Schaller Style Strap Buttons - Chrome (pair)

Probably not a big deal to use the Schallers though. Sounds like they’ll never come loose at least.

Thought I'd post up a few Pics of my Blacked out Ray Special. I am trying to figure out a fair price to sell it for and I'll freely accept any opinions on it's value. It's a Blacked out Special with Flamed roasted Maple and Ebony Fretboard.
Frets are 100% and neck is mint while wearing LaBella 760FX Flats. There are some minor dings/scratches on the body. Scratch plate has done it's job faithfully.

Anyhow, here's some Pics:

@Todd Hamby …. You and I don’t count . They will always remain high on our list. You sir are King of The StingRay Kingdom !!! :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:
P.S. I’m still waiting for that video on your latest acquisition. Can I put in a special request for some Bernard Edwards, Louis Johnson, Rick James , Teena Marie, and Sade? A mashup/mixtape version would be great.

Playing around with my phone camera to see if I can capture the ruby punch finish, but I’m still not sure I’m doing it justice

Could be people are trying to scoop them up before another price increase
I agree that probably is a factor on new models , not to mention I’m sure the recent NAAM announcement on the new finishes aren’t everyone’s cup of tea.

I’ve just noticed more threads here on StingRays and peoples desire to purchase one. Used models from all years are selling quickly .

Good points. Another factor may be that the introduction of the Specials has had the desired effect and after a few years on the market the word is getting out about how good they are.
