Burnt ends?
Thanks guys! Need a quick string recommendation before I run out to the store. I like something fat and punch for fingerstyle, but not too stiff.
entirely subjective but I use DR Pure Blues. DR anything would be great too
Nice, would you consider them long lasting? I haven’t bought new bass strings in a long time, thanks to my acoustic guitar obsession over the last several years. I forgot what works best for me, lol

Interesting my experience with DR has been the opposite. They died way more quickly on me than Slinky’s did and sounded the same so the extra cost wasn’t worth it.DR are some of the longer lasting strings out there for sure. You can find lots of threads about them here on Talkbass

Super Slinky Cobalt Flats![]()
The flats IMO are pretty stiff. I just got a bass strung with Deep Talkin and I have cobalts on another bass which seem to have more tension.Soundwise, I suspect I'd really like the Cobalt Flats. But I love a stiff feeling string and I've been told they're relatively flexible. So, based on that, I haven't tried them myself.
But, if I have the wrong impression, I'd be willing to give them a shot.
