EBMM StingRay Special Club

Newest addition to my collection and back in the EBMM StringRay Family thanks to an absolutely amazing TB Classifieds transaction with @scubajosh77

Oooh that's purdy! :)
Burnt ends?

As for Strings Super Slinky or Slinky Flats [Cobalt] 45-100

Long lasting is ambiguous with Rounds but for me MarkBass Ultimate seemed to last on my former Ultra Precision but not sure how they will sound with Stingray

There may be many strings that will work well but I know Special will sound great with 2 mentioned.

Interesting my experience with DR has been the opposite. They died way more quickly on me than Slinky’s did and sounded the same so the extra cost wasn’t worth it.

Everyone's body chemistry is different but in general most everyone I know that uses DR remarks on their longevity.

But I don't discount your experience. I'm lucky that my hands don't sweat much in general so I get good life from strings.

But Slinkys still die for me within a week! DR I get 4-6 weeks out of

Question of strings for the 4HH special I'm using MJC Ironworks nickels but sadly they've gone out of business due to the passing of the owner. I bought as many of 4&5 strings sets I could find. Once I've gone through those I'll be using Slinky's on both the 4HH & 5H.

Currently I use Nickle Slinky's on my 5H special ( Next string Change Its getting Ironworks) & P/J IV. On my Jazz basses I use Dean Markley Blue Steel Nickels. I've been tempted to put a set of cobalt's on my P/J IV just to try it out.

Soundwise, I suspect I'd really like the Cobalt Flats. But I love a stiff feeling string and I've been told they're relatively flexible. So, based on that, I haven't tried them myself.

But, if I have the wrong impression, I'd be willing to give them a shot.
The flats IMO are pretty stiff. I just got a bass strung with Deep Talkin and I have cobalts on another bass which seem to have more tension.
