Ugh, my beautiful, pristine Special 5HH is pristine no more. When we played this past weekend, we were set up next to a door that the bar owner closes while the band is on, putting a small table in front of it on the lobby side of the door. So our keys player had his rack partially blocking it, one our mains was blocking the other side of it, and my bass stand was in the middle in front of them.
But, while we were walking around talking to people in the crowd before our last set, it looked like some <insert-bannable-offensive-name-here> must have decided that walkling about 40 feet to the main door was too much and decided to push gear out of the way to use THAT door. I have no idea if my Special hit the floor, but it was off the stand and was leaning against the door and the stand for the main. There's a dent on the side and a scrape across the back. Neither is severe and the bass seems to have survived, but dang it, what would make you decide you HAVE to use that door RIGHT NOW rather than waste the 20 seconds it would have taken to walk to the door that was unobstructed. By the time you pushed stuff out of your way and squeezed through the tiny space you opened up, you would have been out the other door.
