Speaking of Stingrays shipping……I just got the email from Ernie Ball saying that my custom design experience Stingray SLO has been shipped and is scheduled to be at my house this coming Monday. (BTW, I placed the order this past April 29th, just for reference).

It's gorgeous - I might've opted for an ebony or rosewood fretboard for a community bass. Keep some fret wipes in the case to keep that unfinished maple looking clean!

I've managed to buy a tortoishell pickguard secondhand and think it looks great; probably because sunburst with tort is my favourite J and P combination.

Just got it's twin in the mail yesterday!!

Is the black 4H a "Classic" with a 3 band preamp?

I don't think I was aware they offered that. I thought they were all period correct 2 band preamps (even the period incorrect 5 string).

Grrrrr! Just got another UPS update. Now my Ray is re-scheduled to be delivered July 31st. The tracking says it’s been at my hometown delivery station for 3 days now. Good grief. I just hope that when it does finally arrive, that it hasn’t been damaged.

These look so nice!!! The red foam mutes are a nice touch. If I was buying, I’d be all over that white.
I guess they still are not doing the short scales again. I absolutely adore mine.

Woof they keep jacking up that price eh. They should plek them for that much. I wonder why they went glossy finish on these, I LOVE the matte soft touch finish of my passive blue one. Has to be the best type of solid color finish on a bass I've ever played. Looks like they ironed out putting the right pickups in the basses though so that's good. I put a knob with an indicator line on the coil selector because I can never remember what position its in.
