EBMM StingRay Special Club

Woof they keep jacking up that price eh. They should plek them for that much. I wonder why they went glossy finish on these, I LOVE the matte soft touch finish of my passive blue one. Has to be the best type of solid color finish on a bass I've ever played. Looks like they ironed out putting the right pickups in the basses though so that's good. I put a knob with an indicator line on the coil selector because I can never remember what position its in.
I don’t recall the prices on the original run. What was it ?

I don't like the Mono case. It's not as well padded inside as the gig bags they make. Just a mold and that's it.

I like the new Tim C passive in white. If I didn't just get a white AVII Precision, I might have been tempted.
Yeah the new Tim C passive is nice. Ive never played a passive one before. Wonder what it sounds like with the pickup selector options. P bass on steroids?

Anthony has yet another video up today, about the fretless Pino. Fender is going to be jealous with all this attention to EBMM.
Agreed, but Fender was fortunate that he used a Precision after he became famous using his fretless Stingray. I saw him playing with Paul Young and the Royal Family when Wherever I lay my hat was in the charts. Nothing else sounded quite like that.

Wait so the MusicMan Mono isn't the same as the Vertigo Bass? That sucks, they cost the same! And I'm sure that cost is factored into the StingRay Special's MSRP.

No. The MM Mono is a nylon outside with a hard "mold" inside that's covered in fuzzy material. It is not foam and will not absorb impact nearly as well. Additionally, since it's molded to fit both the 4 and 5 string basses, the 4 does not fit snug and will move around unless material is added to prevent this.
