Are the Darkrays useful to achieve a subtle warm overdrive tone, as an always-on tone enhancer? Or is it really more of a metal Darkglass grind machine?

Yes with blend control you can get subtle overdrive: warm depends on your perceptionAre the Darkrays useful to achieve a subtle warm overdrive tone, as an always-on tone enhancer? Or is it really more of a metal Darkglass grind machine?

Yes. They. Do!…..Whether with a black or white pickguard, the Hot Honey always looks great.View attachment 7522341View attachment 7522342
That's what I was thinking. Or the battery box contacts are not good. Battery box is the Specials biggest weakness. I've had to bend the contacts on mine to stay touching the batteryMaybe the input jack? Try tapping on the pickup pole pieces with something like a screwdriver to hear if it has any sound

I do, it’s epic in person. It’s white but there is color shift pearl and different color flakes. Highly dependent on angle and lighting.anyone have this dazzler finish? looks like it may vary quite a bit, then again the second picture is def more blown out, so i'm assuming it looks white?View attachment 7523328
The white is absolutely, drop dead gorgeous. Tort IMO is not a good look on this AWESOME color. When I was in the market for one, I planned on going black but the white is absolute, 100% perfection. WOW. I might have to get one now. That looks so good. Up there as the best looking StingRay of all time. The white looks even better here that on Natural Ash.
SW has had some really washed out pics recently. Do a general image search and Reverb search for more perspective.anyone have this dazzler finish? looks like it may vary quite a bit, then again the second picture is def more blown out, so i'm assuming it looks white?View attachment 7523328

Hope I like it in person. Just ordered one.

I’m actually selling a mint 2025 StingRay Special 4H in Dazzler so I can get a Bongo 4HH. I’ll be taking pics I’ll see if I can get something that captures. It’s just real hard and so cool in person and no comparison.
Same. I would not consider myself a glitter fan though I do really love the white/maple combo which led me to this finish. Glad to hear you liked it.For what it's worth, it's not a colorway I typically would choose, but I saw in a GC one day and thought it was incredible. Changed my mind (though I didn't buy it as it was a used one that GC couldn't sell at the time).
Thanks for the reply. I've been wanting a 4HH for a while now and got a good deal on this as open box.
