Maybe — um — sales. There was a GC edition some time ago that had an active/passive switch. I would assume that it would be in the StingRay lineup today, if it sold well.WHY IS THERE NOT A PASSIVE FULL SIZE STINGRAY?!!

You have a choice of maple, rosewood and ebony for StingRay Specials — just not in any color.Since when cant you choose your fretboard on a EB? I believe you can choose between at least 2 choices on all their models, except maybe the signature ones.
Larger question. Why does the Short Scale get a choice of fretboards but the full size doesnt?
You have that option in the Stingray Special but certain finishes come with certain fretboards.
I am assuming because there will only be two finish options available they will only have to make four separate flavors in total.
I just saw on Sweetwater only 100 being made, so probably very little choice on the short scales.
I'm afraid I am the target audience for this offering. Darn you, EBMM!
Link?!
Here is a link to the blue one. There's also the burgundy one (same info):

Hmmm. This is saying it’s an active bass.

Oh don't get me wrong the Specials are nice, but they are just an updated design on the active Stingray. But a Passive Stingray is something that all Stingray lovers have wanted for years, and now it is finally here.
Everyone and his dog is rolling out shortscales this year.

Doh! They misspelled parallel and Neodymium.![]()

And "Magets" for higher output, haha.
For our spell checking duties we'll take 1 or 2 of em for payment? Haha.
