It’s like a cross between a Stingray and a Corgi.That’s a seriously cute bass, makes me want to have children so I can justify buying one to pass on when they come of (bass) age
Doubt we’ll be seeing any at Buckingham Palace, Lizzy only likes pure breeds, like her Ivory White StingRay Special, or many pups....

Just got a date, for receiving my replacement special, end of next week can’t wait!

This short scale Passive Stingray is getting a lot of attention on the internet. I can't wait till they come out. I was going to purchase a Special HH in dropped Copper but that ain't happening now as I am going for the Burgundy short scale and I will save myself some cash too. This has been a long time coming and credit to EB for listening to their customers, and it will hang on my wall at the side of my Classic and I will then have the option of being able to play an active or a passive Stingray. The Special was a nice upgrade idea but the short scale passive is a game changer..........Happy Days!
You should start a club on talkbass dedicated to the shorty so you can explain to all of them how the shorty is better than the bass that all of us spent $2000 on. Seems like that would be the better way to go?
I think that a Club for the short scale Passive Bass is inevitable. And I am not or have ever said that it is better than the Special, I am just saying that it is a completely different type of Stingray, it's a game changer!.
Decisions decisions........Which one should I play.......My active Stingray Classic or my passive short scale Stingray. That is why the passive stingray is an exiting prospect. But the Special is a great Bass, but it is now history!

It’s like, maybe there’s another thread already on Talkbass where they be talking about the short scale stingray and wouldn’t it be better to discuss it there than here? You know, so that it’s easier to find the discussion later.
Apparently such a club will only have a maximum of 100 members (presuming all buyers are on Talkbass). I thought you bought a Fender of some sort instead of the Stingray Special though?

Sorry chaps I guess this thread is starting to be more about the short scale than the Special so I will leave it at that. Anyway you could always sell your Specials and buy a new passive short scale and become part of the club once it starts........
I play little but my Stingray Specials currently - they are great.

Anyway you could always sell your Specials and buy a new passive short scale and become part of the club once it starts........
Or just swap the existing factory (active) preamp to an aftermarket one with an active/passive switch?
