Eden Amps No More?

Well, at some point the new owner established a website for Eden: Invalid Link Removed

It looks like they have completely abandoned the North American market for the moment. They list six distributors, one each in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Germany, India, Oceania, and Argentina.

I haven't kept close tabs on Eden's product lineup for several years, but it looks like a subset of the same gear Eden was selling 5+ years ago.

The world tour series is missing here, save for the accessory foot pedal. I'm lost at this point. I guess the TN series is their flagship now?

I absolutely love my TN. Bought the UK version and Marshall/Eden sent the engineering diagram and it was a simple jumper to turn it into US compliant circuit. The EQ points are my fave on any head, I wish I’d gotten the 501 or 502 over the 226 but it still pounds. Sounds absolutely incredible through a little TC208.

Dunno if this is G4M clearing out the Eden stock, but they're currently flogging off the EX115 300W 4ohm cab for £149 (~£165 with the cheapest UK shipping option). There are Currently 4 left after I impulse bought one earlier :D

They have no presence in NA... they do get manufacturers to drop-ship from NA warehouses though.
But they won't ship everything... only the stuff they're permitted to ship to the US.

They remind me of those janky camera stores that used to be all over NYC in the dot-com and early digital camera era.

Oh come on... They were hellishly heavy, a product of their time. I think GK and SWR did very well making stuff that was just as solid as the stuff that Eden made. "as good sounding as Eden Davids" is subjective... and many would disagree.

^^^ all true. And they have not had the cachet of their early years. But "that Eden sound" stopped me in my tracks years ago the first time I heard heard it. Couldn't afford one back then, didn't need one later and finally got their down market TN226 for my limited needs. That sound is still there."Transparent" is the word that comes to mind, "damnd unforgiving" on a bad day. I hope the new owners can rebuild the brand, but I think Eden was out done years ago.

The last I heard, a company bought all the remaining stock from Marshall for liquidation. I doubt there is any interest for another firm to to start making them again. Regardless how great this stuff was, the market for 1000 watt 410 cabs in excess of a 100 LBs and 40lbs amps is not exactly strong these days.

Heavy, no doubt. They were made for the rigors of the tour, handled by not so careful hired hands, not weekend warriors hauling their own gear to a weekend gig at a pub. Sound? While it is a matter of taste, If you know how to EQ them, I have never had a bandmate, sound engineer, or recoding engineer/ producer ever object to my sound.

No knock on GK or SWR is intended. If I was playing harder rockI would probably lean more to GK, although one could do it as well with an Eden rig. As for SWR, if I’m not mistaken David Norchow also developed some of their products. Personally, I used a Workingman’s 115 combo for several years and found it had a certain high mid honk frequency that was impossible to tame. Granted, not exactly their top of the line product.

That said, I totally agree with you that Eden gear is a relic of a day long past. Have a good on Frankie!

With that said, I had the same experience with the Shuttle 6.0 where despite it's 600W advertised rating it didn't seem to have as much "push" as my 400W RMS Eden WT400+ and fell just a tad short for non PA assisted gigs. The Eden WT-400 by comparison was always just enough to get me through "loud" gigs.

For me, I always felt a little underpowered with any of the ASX125 ICE powered heads. I tried most of them if not all.

I also had a ShuttleMax 9.2 and a Streamliner 900 and both had the power I needed and then some. Admittedly they felt louder than my 400W Eden head but they didn't have that same ICE module. I think they had the ASX250.

What other bass amps are successful that were made with the 125ASX ICE power module?

Just a quick question, were you using the same cabs with those two different heads? If not, and you probably already know this, cabs can have different levels of efficiency and that can make an audible difference in the amount of dBs you get out of your rig.
