Maaaannnnnnnnnnn, I'm going to need a soda after all this blasting.:)

i don't have an eden anymore--but i would recommend them easily. my first good rig was a wt-400 and 210xlt (still have that). i got it in early 1999 right after i got out of high school and used it on almost every gig for years---nearly 1000 gigs not to mention rehearsals!!--until late 2003 when i stupidly sold it. i got all into old tube amps and ampeg stuff etc...but the eden was always warm and clear and great. every now and then i get one as backline at a gig and it's a little more modern than what i'm used to these days, but always really good.

it may be a little out of fashion right now--there are a lot of options and things have been leaning more vintage-y --but they are fantastic amps and will sound really good in nearly all situations. and what's not to like about that??

Very cool in my book because they have the features I want, are reliable, look good and are easy to use, sounding great flat and having very useful EQ when needed. Their DI is incredible and sound men love the signal as much as I like what comes out of the amp and cabs.

It's unfortunate they had the double problem of a factory move and the rushed launch of their recent 'flagship' amp, and the fact that US Music's CS wasn't up to speed at all on the Eden side of things certainly didn't help. Fortunately most of the problems seem to be behind them, and they have an excellent forum for advice and to address any CS problems that weren't handled properly through normal channels.

I had a WT-800 for a few years until I sold it and bought a WT-550. Both were flawless and had the same incredible clean yet warm tone that I look for. I also bought a WT-550 for a bar's backline here and it's been delivering the goods for two years now without a hitch. They are fairly standard backline rigs for quality companies here in Europe, not for nothing.

ok so what are the main differences between eden & nemesis
since both products are at the eden web site

The Nemesis650 and Eden405 are very similar IMO.. similar power and tone.

The WT550/800/1205 have a tube in the pre (the Nemesis and 405 are all SS), and a few additional features (extra mid EQ on the 550 and 800, extra channel on the 1205).

I don't know the specs, but the Nemisis is just a less expensive line than the David Eden signature products. KJung listed some differences. In cabs, they use a different driver and are lighter weight (I think). All in all, I haven't heard anyone complaining about the Nemisis line...they're considered a lot of bang for the buck.

Really? I thought Markbass and Genz-Benz are the ones that have the THE tone that is every bass-player's dream and only idiots would use something else. :p

I recently heard a really good bassist using a backline of a Genz-Benz GBE600 on top of a 610 cab. It did the job, but both of us thought it was stale and nothing above a GK or SWR rig. Certainly didn't bite and growl like an Eden.

I haven't even seen a Mark Bass product in person, let alone heard one. I've heard them through Youtube videos and crap like that, but the camcorder/microphone lies to your ears.

+1... the Nemesis heads stack up VERY well to the higher Eden WT line. However, the Eden cabs are WAY better than the Nemesis line IMO and IME.

The very fact that there is so much discussion (good or bad) regarding Eden on this forum says a mouthful. It's like the old saying...talk good about me, talk bad about me, just keep talking about me! :hmm:;):D

Yeah, but I don't think it's positive. There have been many new potential customers here that decided against an Eden purchase that I know of. I don't know of anyone that was encouraged to join Eden for the first time because of these reports.

Most importantly, it seems we keep hearing about how these repair shops are sick of dealing with Eden. If true, that will have more impact on the company ultimately than our talking. It's hard to argue with a stack of back ordered parts, if said stack exists.

What I'd like to know for sure is what is the REAL state of affairs at the moment. I'm still "hearing" that what I said above is true...parts are widely unavailable, customers are upset, repair shops sick of putting up with Eden, etc. Perhaps this is all rumor and misinformation. According to Eden, the current turn around times for items on their bench is less than 2 weeks. Perhaps both are true, and Eden is servicing in-house repairs at the expense of getting parts to the repair centers. I just don't know, but I am very curious.

That seems the most accurate way to describe it right now.
Yeah, I think so. Fixing in-house repairs first definitely gives you a chance to directly influence your customer's opinions. You can't afford to keep screwing up there because there is no middle party to help shoulder responsibility for delays. But you don't want to make your dealers and repair centers mad either. They are the ones that will be hardest to bring back into the fold once they've had their fill. I think bass players themselves are much more forgiving than these businesss owners.
