Eden D210XST Needs Beano

I love my two 210XSTs better than any other cabinets I've owned, which is a lot of cabinets. Believe it or not, though, one of them arrived to me with both of its drivers blown. The seller stood up, good thing. But it does seem like a lot of people have blown the drivers in this product. I wonder why.

In other news, space concerns forced me to use a single 8-ohm 210XST on two mountain gigs over the weekend. Full band, loud drummer. Genz-Benz Shuttle 9. While I will say that the amp had little more to give than I asked of it, the rig did a very nice job for its size. I might take it to smaller room gigs in town that way now just because I can.

Just found out I'm actually dealing with a D210XSTN (the neo). I didn't even realize there was a NEO version of this cab. Not even sure what the differences would be between the standard and NEO versions are, aside of weight. The seller actually put NEO on the cabinet description on Ebay but I thought it was just an error.

I'm not sure sure I'll be keeping this cab as I'm getting it for mids and horns to compement an 18" Carvin box I had from back in the day. Seems like and XLT might actually be better suited for this case.

I've never done an A-B comparison between the XST and XLT 210 cabinets - but I find the XST to be a very midrange forward cabinet. I would think that combination would work very well. Also, the XST cabinet is a little smaller than the XLT, which is nice.

Not sure about Eden's Neo line, though. Those have not taken off.

I'm wondering if I could use the stock xst's in this box. I will never move the box, at least not anytime soon and the non-neo's are what built the brand.

I find it really strange they discontinued them so soon. Perhaps because it was confusing to have identical cabs with different woofers.

Wow what a bad story. They are now willing to sell me the part (yesterday they wouldn't) but at a price of $225. Oh and she was thrilled to mention it was out of stock until November and that was an estimated date.

Here is my thread at Eden: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

I have a feeling it will be deleted. Not sure if they would want this type of honest customer feedback on their home forum. I doubt I'm being overly irate.

The Ebay seller is actually willing to go half with me on the repair, which is $390 from a local repair shop (woofers are 150 each and $60 labor to screw them in). I respect the fact they have to make their labor cost of operation.

I've never had a worse customer service experience than with US Music Corp. Will forever avoid anything affiliated.

To be full circle and fair to Eden, I eventually was helped by a different customer service rep that took care of everything the way one would expect. Details are in the thread linked above.

So the lesson is if you aren't getting the service you think you deserve, ask to speak to someone else. This one woman almost single handedly ruined my taste for Eden Electronics.

Kinda talking to myself in this thread by now but I had go full circle fair on the topic.

I actually love Eden. Hopefully u figured out the prob. I blew the horn in my Eden 4x10 a little while ago and the store where I purchased it took it back and had it fixed for me, no questions asked. They even lent me a loaner cab till mine was fixed. Are you sure yours wasn't under a warranty?

It wasn't. The speaker warranty is 1yr and the cab was 18 months old, plus purchased 2nd hand. If I bought it from a store I maybe could have fought a little harder but all in all it turned out ok. Just that Denise from Eden is, and this is putting it nicely, a ****** person. The almost ruined my favorite four letter word, but Tim running the forums was able to save face for the entire brand.

The person I purchased the cab from actually chipped in $195 for the repair so in the end I got pretty much brand new D210XST for $590.
