Eden Glowplug!!

So, excitedly, put it on my board to try it out in context at band practice. And it was lousy.... either it made barely any impact on my tone, or was just sooooo tubby and boomy. What am I doing wrong?

The mix knob! I found it best to mix the signal with my dry to get a proper balance.

It was with a passive jazz. I'm going to try on my active p/j to see if I get better results, and A/B test the two of em to find a better balance. Part of the problem at the jam was it's a low light practice room which does look cool if you're taking a video, but sucks to adjust knobs haha

A little over a week ago, one of my cousins passed away unexpectedly. His funeral led to a family reunion, including another cousin I hadn't seen in decades. He texted me up front that he'd bring me a bass pedal, since he doesn't use it and he knows I play as well (I believe we aren't even the only bass players in this family of ours).

Through several other cousins (we're Italian ) it has now landed at my parents' place today. Turns out to be an Eden Glowpug! I will probably only pick it up in about two weeks as I am about to go on holiday. But I wonder what this pedal will do! For my current / live rig I use a fretless Precision (Tony Franklin) into an Orange Terror 500 and a Barefaced 2x12. Tips and tricks are welcome!!

What @ BadMonk said. Plus it'll do heavy dirt. Its a good pedal.

Hi! It looks like the Glowplug has been discontinued…

I still use mine every now and then, but have preferred other booster/drives like the spark booster, blumes or dcx as they can run on a simple 9v, center negative pedalboard.
I’m also seeing reviews and samples of the sushi box pedals, so I wonder if anyone has/had both the glowplug and any of the sushibox pedals and can mention how they compare?

Is it correct to say that the glowplug runs on a starved/low voltage plate where the sushis can benefit from a higher voltage and break-up?

I still use my glow plug , but depending on type of bass and amp. Not for clean sounds obviously, but I use it with a Hofner cavern bass. Gives it more character, with 15” fender BLX and also with the 12” markbass.
Settings as per the first posts. It’s nice to have, well made, but the 15 v is a bit of a nuisance.
