Envelope Follower Junkie Support Group

well i own an mxr 188 bass auto q , i used to own a dod fx25, im currently bidding on an electro harmonix bass balls and a q tron, also i have amplitube ampeg svx which has auto wah and an envelope filter ..... my intention is to own a lot more... i think i am a junkie

I'll get some piccies of my build today.

1. MXR filter with mods
2. Mcmeat (meatball clone)
3. Maestro Filter /Sample + Hold Clone
4. Freq. Centrals Funky Mode Filter

Got enough parts lying around to clone a mutron. I could start tonight...

EDIT: Forgot my FuzzyBalls...modded bassballs build.

Yeah, I suppose I could use some help as well!
Current:
EHX Q-tron
Barge Concepts Grinder
Xotic RoboTalk 2
MXR Auto-Q
EHX Bass Balls modded with trim pots on outside.

Past:
Boomstick BottomFeeder
3Leaf Groove Regulator
Moog MF101
EHX Q-Tron+
Maxon AF-9
Pigtronix EP-1
Subdecay Prometheus
The Syle Green Filter

I must say that with the filters I have now, my search is over!

My Filters:

DOD FX25 (1993 Two-Knob Version)
3Leaf Audio Groove Regulator (with v2 mod)
Subdecay Prometheus
EHX Enigma Qballs
Alesis Philtre
Korg G-5 (has an envelope follower in it--can do presets!!)

I would like an EHX Bassballs with the external trim pot mod.

Anything else anyone would recommend for getting unique filter sounds?

What's the v2 mod?

(did a search, couldn't find anything)

I've wanted a 3Leaf for quite a while, I'm worried if you tell me I'll just want it more. But tell me anyway. :D lol

5sg.

I could be wrong (and someone correct me if I am) but I believe Spencer has changed the circuit slightly to add a bit more resonance/wetness and has offered to mod existing models.

Spencer has been working on getting it to sound more vintage Mutron III ish. I haven't been keeping up with him and his mods since getting the Enigma pedal (my current favorite).

BLue is a Modded Bass Balls clone. the second footswitch controls the distortion.

The mxr is a clone / modded mxr envelope filter. Also see Emma Discumbobulator.

Big Black is a Lovetone Meatball Clone. The second footswitch controls up / down sweep.

the first 3 of about 7 or 8 filters I am building.

the 2 bottom are getting more flat primer coats before I do any graphics..IF I do any.

Upper left corner..3 of about 12 Sprague 183P capacitors. For some very cool tube preamp projects.

Here's a link to the Rev 2 modification to the 3 Leaf Groove Regulator.

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

The modification was performed on my early (#144 or earlier) unit swapping out the two resistors with military grade 3.3k ohm and 10k ohm resistors. I prefer the "wetter" tone with the Rev 2 modification.

Well, I forgot a couple from my previous list and I've added a couple since then:

Mutron III
Pigtronix EP-1
EMMA DiscumBOBulator
EHX Qtron+
Tonefactor Analogue Filter Red
Maxon AF-9
Frostwave Funk-A-Duck
MXR Auto Q
Xotic Robotalk
DOD FX25
Subdecay Prometheus
Chunk Systems Octavius Squeezer and 00Funk
Moog Low Pass Filter
Jacques Trinity
Xotic Robotalk2
Akai Deep Impact
3Leaf Groove Regulator

Woo hoo! Make a Mutron clone? That would be cool!!

I owned a vintage Mutron III w/attached power cord....never like the sound of it. I was told that the earlier (battery/adapter operated) models sounded better. So, I then got my III modded by LSound, sounded much better, but not great. Sold it after owning it for 30 years. So, I still need convincing that the Mutron III is the ultimate filter, since I'm enjoying the sound of my Enigma so much. Down to 3 filters on my board:

EBS BassIQ
WMD FatMan
EHX Enigma

I just recently got a Photron and Fatman. The Photron was modified to have a trigger input instead of an effects loop. So, I can have both filters see the same envelope trigger (from my clean). Running these two in parallel is absurd sounding. I'm in love with both filters.
