You're right Tom, I fall into that camp that prefers the NYC's over the UL's. I did an A/B test on a trip to BassCentral a few months back, and TO MY EARS, the difference was clear enough that I am not going to off load my NYC's for less weight. Further, I did some A/B tests with different power amps (mostly the switching vs non switching) and the Crest has won. So I'll take the deeper tone of the NYC's and the heavier punch in the chest CA9 over say a Stew or QSC PLX. The stack you see in the pic is getting 900 W on one side of the Crest... I also have two 110 NYCs that I'll pair up with the 2 112's on the other channel and it's is QUITE impressive and punchy. This Quest is the best pre I've had in a while. The Smith 6 Elite G I have (with fresh strings no less) will snap your neck off if you're not careful through this rig.
I'll try to get a pic of the 110's on top of the 112's later tonight.
