'Accidentally'?
I have to ask...how?
If you have to ask, I think you missed the joke.

All those mods and you didn't change the most important thing (IMHO), the three-point bridge. The Hipshot replacement is transformational. It turns the Woody into a fine instrument. Fully adjustable saddles.

I am thinking of adding this. I see hipshot has multiple choices. Did you get the 2-point or 3-point mounting option?

Ready to start modding the A.W. Rumblekat I picked up Saturday.

On the way:
Babicz 3 point bridge
Hipshot Licensed Ultra Light tuners
D'Addario clipless micro tuner

Already done:
Bone nut
Setup
TI Flats

On the list:
Sand back of neck to bare and oil finish
Copper shield
Switchcraft jack
CTS pots

* I'd really be down with a custom control plate, anyone know if there's an option out there or a recommendation for someone to do a custom ones?

Which ultralites did you get? I have a rumblekat on the way and would love to go ahead and order my parts, but wasn't sure what the post dimensions are.

I'm REALLY wanting to try these pickups in it, but can't get them to respond to any of my queries about specs.

Very happy with the mods to my Rumblekat.
*Leveled the frets
*Installed CTS 500K pots with ceramic .047 cap
*New nut with narrower string spacing
*Sanded the back of the neck to comfotable profile and gun stock oil finished
*Installed Klein bass mini humbucker pickups
*Moved the neck pickup to the bridge position then and routed for the bridge pickup closer to the bridge.
*Made a tortoise pick guard to cover the neck hole.

This thing rocks!... literally!View attachment 2890905 View attachment 2890906 View attachment 2890907 View attachment 2890908
Nice job!

This is my Rumblekat that has had a few mods. The previous owner had installed a Hipshot bridge. Since I’ve bought it I put on some Hipshot ultralight tuners, a set of Dunlop strap locks, new pickup rings and speed knobs. After trying a bunch of strings I landed on GHS Balanced Nickles which really suit this bass well.

The only other mod I have planned is new electronics. The old ones are fine but I use my volume knobs to control my overdrive and I think a set of 500k pots with high pass filters would really help. I might build a Nordstrand tone drop circuit for it too.
