Yeah I was pretty upset deadwood ended when it did. They were just getting into the swing of the story. I definitely wanted more.

Morning gents.

So about 6-7 months ago my desk top at home sh!t the bed. Motherboard took a dive, and may have taken everything else attached to it. Due to lack of funds/interest I have not gone down the rabbit hole of possibly replacing every component trying to find everything that may be fried.

Cue to yesterday, when my dad read some article that Win Xp is no longer going to be supported and that he needs to upgrade to Win 7, or some hacker is going to steal his life. We get to talking about an upgrade in OS, and his 10 year old computer which I built for him, really isnt going to support the resource hog that is 7. So I sit him down and show him what I would build if I had the budget.

Started out with me being conservative, because I have been planning this build and I am not trying to throw the whole piggie at it. I am showing him some decent middle of the road quad core, and he asks, "don't they have like 6 and 8 core processors now? What is the fastest one of those?" So we pull up some 4.7 gHz octo-core AMD processor, and his remark is, "Wow that is way cheaper than an Intel!" So then I proceed to part out the rest of the components he would need, and it is way less than the PowerMac my brother was trying to convince him to get.

So he wants to know what it will cost him to have me do a rebuild. "Parts to trouble shoot my PC?" "Deal."

So not only do I get my computer back up and running, but I get to build a bitchen box for my pops (which is really fun IMHO).

Those strings make it look like a short scale. It's cute.

keys add a completely different dimension to music, you never really notice until you write keys over something then remove them just how much they add.

Even really simple keys lines are the "frosting" that really makes some music. Granted there are cases of too much frosting, but that can be found with every instrument.

Coworker just brought me back from a math rock induced space out coma LOL. I was zoning out so hard I think my mouth may have been open, I love music that does that. She was asking me if I had any idea of the new pictometry toolbar we got for ArcView if there were any instructions for it as she couldn't get it to work thus frustrating and pissing her off that all they gave us was the toolbar. Anyway we had a good laugh that I was zoning out to work and music and I said just go back to your desk and I will send you so music and you just won't care about the nonsense anymore LOL. Doesn't hurt that one of the office hottie has a skin tight skirt on, might as well be yoga pants, her nonstop trips to the copier are like watching a tennis match!

Anyone confirm or deny ghs strings are muddy? Think I can make my metal basses a little more like my 74 was on the recording if I get some dunlops or daddarios on them.

of all the things we scrutinize in terms of tone and sound and feel, strings are the one thing ive never noticed a lick of difference on other than the actual size. nickel feels like nickel. flats feel like flats.

i remember breaking GHS strings constantly on my old sting ray, i remember daddarios being more sturdy, but they felt the same to me.

Kevin told me he left the neck with a solid core for added low end, when he tested the bass he blew up his bench amp...so apparently it worked.

Definitely not. I'm obsessive about clarity and I won't play anything other than GHS Bass Boomers if given the choice. I've tried tons of different strings over the years and always end up going back to GHS quickly.
