I don't think so, not yet anyway. I was in the store that night looking thru like 200 old "guitar player" mags some dude dropped off. Some of the old 70's and 80's adds were hilarious.
There's a subtle art to recording fuzz properly. On top of the subtle art of getting a good tone all by yourself. That high end fizz is the enemy of everything I love to hear.

If the tracks are good we might put some of the songs as a bonus on a future EP.
I'm gonna ask for the raw tracks so we can mix it later when we put something out.

It's not just fuzz though. It's distortion in general. I understand it's supposed to be a wall of sound but hearing every note adds a certain girth to my ears.
I've played some amps that can do it, it just doesn't seem to get recorded that way.
But then...I enjoy dynamics (and slop) in my songs.

Sad because there is no chord more dirt friendly than a power chord. On guitar I have been trying to get away from just power and barre chords and try different intervals and it is making me use less dirt. Really digging the EQD Speaker Cranker as it gives me gain with clarity, thinking of buying a second for more gain stages and stacking since every part of the knob on that pedal is sweet on guitar.

I played a Speaker Cranker for a bit. I though it sounded pretty decent but could use some mods to improve it's versatility (and bass guitar friendliness) but that would take away from it's main selling point...It's beautiful simplicity.
Yeah, fizzy top end on distortion is a bummer. It's not that hard to avoid while recording, but it's definitely easier if the guitarist has good taste in tone already. I've definitely heard some people f*ck up what was already a good tone in the recording/mix though.
It's definitely possible to sound heavy, with lots of dirt and still have clarity. Live and recorded.

As celebration I put a little excess fund into my online card... Haggling across multiple live chats I'm just gonna grab a bass vi and sell off my EB-0. I can't find a used guitar I approve of so I'll just break down and get these six strings instead!
Also my full scale bead bass in progress, what's the best fender pickup for even clear B standard tuning? Leave my bass a p bass, go jazz or get a scpb?

I've had my eye on that MXR M80 for awhile but all of the demos online just make it sound horrible. My co-worker that plays in a cover band tried one out but hated the distortion, but he's not as obsessed with bass fuzz/dist as some of us are.
...also a good friend of mine who's also a co-worker just got the axe. Totally his fault, and everyone saw it coming, but it still sucks. Super nice guy, but you have to show up to work. That's literally all he had to do was ****ing show up consistently and we would have been fine. He couldn't get his **** together, even after multiple warnings - now he gots no job.

Christ, the Pittsburgh Floor show is the same night as the Mastodon tour. Get like 6 shows a year in Pittsburgh that I want to go to, and 2 of them are on the same night. Figures.
I'll be at the Miami kickoff show for sure. My buddies in Ancient Albatross somehow snagged a spot on the bill. Lucky bastards.

It would probably be extremely easy for me to get Supervoid on the Floor show here, but I don't want to have to sell tickets against Mastodon and we already have a show booked a couple weeks later.
And yeah, that new Floor track is killer. I like it better than anything I've heard from Torche.
