did you do a full aluminum body? and whats the overall weight?

I watched a former band mate take out the lead singer of a different band that he was in with the headstock of his Jackson Rhoads. It was a daytime gig, he was drunk, got a little too into it and nailed the poor woman in the forehead. Lots of blood, end of band.

those necks feel amazing. im half tempted just to ask kevin to make me the neck and see if i can bolt it onto an existing body.

Started out with me being conservative, because I have been planning this build and I am not trying to throw the whole piggie at it. I am showing him some decent middle of the road quad core, and he asks, "don't they have like 6 and 8 core processors now? What is the fastest one of those?" So we pull up some 4.7 gHz octo-core AMD processor, and his remark is, "Wow that is way cheaper than an Intel!" So then I proceed to part out the rest of the components he would need, and it is way less than the PowerMac my brother was trying to convince him to get.

So he wants to know what it will cost him to have me do a rebuild. "Parts to trouble shoot my PC?" "Deal."

So not only do I get my computer back up and running, but I get to build a bitchen box for my pops (which is really fun IMHO).

That's awesome!!! Tons of fun, right there.

I know Intel's are a bit pricier, but they outperform everything else in bench marks. People are catching up, but Intel is still the best

Funny how things work.

I wouldn't use GHS Boomers if they sponsored me. I have had several pairs and they sound great, to me, initially, but go to **** waaaaaay too quickly. Not worth ever using them again.

I would rather go with AMD and use the same socket for longer. Upgrade down the line with the same system, long after an Intel board is well out dated.

glad to see im not the only one. when i used to flea slap my old musicman it was almost a given that id pop one string a week. granted i was playing very hard, but they were not sturdy at all considering the alternatives.

Experiences may very, as with most everything gear-related. I've only broken one Boomer that I can recall, in 15 years of relatively heavy-handed rock/metal playing. And one of my favorite attributes of Boomers is that they hold the slightly-broken-in tone that I like for longer than most that I've tried.

I do admit that if you want the full treble-and-clank of a brand new set of strings to last as long as possible (which I do not), they probably aren't the best choice.

The EGC has landed.

I won't be able to give a full run through until tomorrow. But I did get to mess around with it for a little while through my GK 1x15 combo. Unfortunately playing in F at low volumes is essentially useless so I won't get a good feel for that until tomorrow.

However the rest of the bass sounded great. Nice and balanced, reacted nicely with my Demon King. Had to tweak some knobs but that was to be expected. I get the really cool oscillation feedback I was hoping it would do, so that's a win.

The neck is super comfy to play, it's exactly what I was hoping for as the RD's neck would get uncomfortable after too long.

Kevin made my neck have a solid core as opposed to the normal hollow setup he does on his other instruments. The good part is that it resonates amazingly and the added weight gives it more natural low end.

The downside is now it's a little neck heavy. Nothing outrageous, but worth noting. I picked up a couch strap to use, which is unfortunately really slick so it adds to that, so I may switch back to my old strap that has more grip to it. I'll give it a few weeks and see what I get use to.

Super happy with how it's turned out so far. Really just excited to get To use it in practice tomorrow night.

I'm starting to realize something I hate in most rock/metal recordings...

I hate when the guitars are just a wall of fizz. There is no note definition in power chords. I guess I'm asking too much but I prefer to hear every note of a power chord.

Also, I'm on my 3rd MXR M80. I don't love it but it's a usable tone for my upcoming gigs.

Laz...you getting your set recorded on Saturday?
