Episode 88: S/D thread - No Hope

i need a new keyboard...

fap fap fap fap. she is a beaut tho, sucks i gotta wait to play her but shes not ready for US use. actually Sam, this model i think was made for a canadian guy back in the 70s and didnt even come with a voltage selector, the last owner (british guy) had it put on like all the other british amps with the impedence push/pull selectors.

Pelhams gate story just made me think cause I have really high gain dirt and it makes my humbucker equipped basses howl, so the bass vi probably will make some darling screams, but I don't just play the heavy. Also I only have one 9v spot left on my board so It'll probably wind up being something practical like a gate or hpf. I feel weird adding anything other than practical boxes so I don't disturb the dano lineage with riff raff.

That said I really would like a fuzz/trem/reverb, but I'd only use them with guitar or the bass vi so I'll probably just find an old peavey head or something cheap to cover those when I care, and I keep the Dano bloodline strong and incestuous.

Sartori I have a kill switch on my bass, it's handy for mutes if your not using time based effects then it causes rhythmic glitching, after your last pedal would be the most effective for a full stop of sound mid song I'd think.

jesus thats a scary thought, but im gonna see just how much it can take for sure haha.

Yo!

Got my first paycheck from my big boy job, so naturally it was a NAD!!!

Its my first venture into the world of tubes, its no 300 watt monster, but Im starting out small, my next tube amp will be much bigger. Been waiting for one of these to pop up at my local MGR, one finally did and its even the hot rodded version with the gain and reverb. Perfect for my home bedroom amp, just got done jamming with my parents sleeping up stairs. A lot of good reverb in this little thing, can't wait to really crank it tomorrow. Already changes the knobs on it, and thinking about turning the amp around in the head case.

It was also a NAD for my guitarist, he got a 69 sunn 100s modded to have kt88s. And now he's running 3 amps. The sunn adds a fuzzy mid that sounds awesome in his mix that I always thought it lacked. I got to turn up a bit and got more grit and drive from my amps, sounds great. Were so much fuzzier now, it makes me happy and warm inside.

Now I'm need to look into a tube swap because I can tell its a fizzy cheap thing. Any suggestions looking for most clean/headroom possible because I use my crazy Russian sunn preamp for dirt and eq. EL84 and 12ax7.

Spent the evening setting up my EB3 for A#. Ive never filed a nut my self but I took my time and it turned out really well. Final tuning is A# D# G# C#. Different... Tension is good. No flop. No need to adjust the truss rod. Raised the action a hair. Intonation was easy except for the D#. Man, its been a while since I've played such a heavy set of strings. I can't imagine what it would feel like to play Ron's bass.

really good tuning - i think one of the next step for Stone the Crows is doing a song in drop A# down from C standard - we have one song in A# but it doesn't utilise the low string for the root.

really stoked about our recordings from a fortnight ago.. the mix is a bit bass heavy (never thought I would say that) but once it is done we definitely have some material. *cough max cough *

Bees, that Hiwatt is a gal who licks taint to tip Hot!!!

Muench that modded Epi 5er is slick, makes me miss my little Fender Champ.

For guitar, not bass I would like to try a different fuzz out, I got an octavia and muff of course. Thinking of trying that EQD Dirt Tra"sitter out, any play with guitarists with one or another fuzz that you really dig?

That's awesome. Why cut your audience in half?

Also, Id highly recommend everyone to listen to me and my drummers last band. As some of you may remember the guitarist moved up to Minnesota and took his songs with him, then found a new bass and drummer, now the band is called Lord Montague. They recently recorded and its finally mastered. Some super great sabbath worship stuff right here men.

Good stuff. I am sure we'll invite them down to Kato.
