I just soldered the new one in, it's easy enough to change, even with soldering and unsoldering it only takes 5 minutes.

Episode 88: S/D thread - No Hope

I just soldered the new one in, it's easy enough to change, even with soldering and unsoldering it only takes 5 minutes.
While I was at the space today I finally had the tools and screws to put the metal grill my guitarist made be on my 215. And I rearranged my setup.
Three more days til my vi arrives, and mostly self taught jumping between bass and guitar and stopping for periods then mega playing for periods I too think this bass should really meld and stick with me.
I'm wondering if those avatar guitar 2x12 cabs that were really loved on here recently would be a good choice as a second cab?

A few years back my concert going buddy said hey Joe, Robin Trower is playing in Richmond you want to go, at the time I didn't know who Robin Trower was and I for some reason I thought he meant Robyn Hitchcock and I said nah man I wouldn't dig that and my buddy looked I punched him in the face. Him and I always swapped CDs and had each others's library and like a year later I stumpled on Robin Trower going through the library and said man I am really enjoying Robin Trower, he said ya fuxck ya why didn't you want to go see him, I said I though you were talking about a different Robin LOL
I really enjoyed diddling the Squier Bass VI at Sam Ash tonight, they had both colors in stock, the white is FN gorgeous. From bass lines, chording, riffing, to fingerpicking, it's a fn blast. Would love to play one that the action was set up proper. Have to get me won of them sum biches some day. I already had baritone Gas now I got bass VI Gas.
People be stringing them as baritones, and they are cheap enough to buy two if you were inclined. I still have a strat sitting idle at home intended to try baritone tuning, but I might just string it up standard and put my gfs wide range pickup gathering in it instead of the gfs loudmouth currently in there. I put a bridge bucker only guard in it so I'll probably slice a slot in it and wire it like an esquire... Hmm ideas. Probably put flats on it too, did that with my old esquire.
Morning to you. Good bit of family all converged on ft worth for breakfast. The black coffee and corned beef hash is a good Sunday start.
I think I am getting what I want with the full tone dual drive and Joyo ultimate drive. The full tone is set up for more mids naturally. It is most usable when guitarist is power chording riffs. It's the hot knife that cuts through his riff butter. The Joyo is set for nasty darkness. It is the thick shag rug that covers the song floor when he starts soloing.

Brought the EGC over to Chicago Music Exchange to mess around with some pedals and show it to my buddy who works there.
Messed with a bunch of fuzz and drive pedals. I was messing with a germanium equipped b:assmaster that was actually pretty cool, normally don't like how they sound but I was getting some gnarly tones out of it.
Also in the mix was the jhs four wheeler, mxr bass overdrive, darkglass duality, Fuzzrocious ratm, and empress fuzz. Some were cooler than others. No real interest in picking anything up but wanted to hear how the EGC reacted with different pedals.
However, I was running all these things through an Electric USA power unit (180 watts, 4xKT88)....man, it reminded me why I loved the EA Orange AD200 that I had....but more simple to dial in and deeper sounding.
I really want it now....

I have it, it was one of the first albums my dad gave me when I got a record player, along with Atomic Rooster's Death Walks Behind You. Kinda surprised I haven't worn through it yet, it's such a good friggin album. Same with From Earth Below and Twice Removed From Yesterday, all fantastic albums. I also have Robin Trower Live! on vinyl, and they just tear it up on that recording. This isn't the version of that album, but still one of my favorite Trower tracks: Daydream - Robin Trower
Ugh, I'm super pissed off I won't get to see them AGAIN this year. It always works out that they're playing either on a weekday when I can't make it down to NYC or they're on the opposite coast. Maybe I'll be able to make it, I'd freaking love to see them and Sons of Huns.
For guitar? Probably depending on the speakers in all the cabs.
For bass? Not so much.
Max maybe you should just quit pussyfooting around, and step up to the plate with the big dog. You know your gas for tube gear and peavey amps will get you here anyways.
I watched a bunch of fretted Americana Phil X vids of the bass vi and he has it through a vox ac30 and that tone master and it sounds badass. But also I have friends who play guitar so once this house is ready to move into in early June I can play more and louder with others, and they don't have to bring much.

Anyways I got that tube head that's 40 watts, but might be able to handle 50-60 if me and my dad funk around with it a bit. The avatar cab might be the wrong thing, but I remember a discussion of some company going the 4x12 was meh but the 2x12 is oversized and loud as hell. I've seen a few with vintage 30's and a host of other things, I just don't really know much about guitar speakers.
Or if I was to challenge myself could I make a decent guitary/bass vi cab to match my amp, with just a jigsaw?
