I did check Bob's Profile. That's why I asked if he was a pro....
So, only full time bass players can hear a difference in a power cable???
For you information there happen to be some one there who did in deed have some for sale(an authorized dealer).
Please don't call me a lier. All you have to do is contact Chris Poland and he will gladly tell you his experience and the fact that he purchased the ESP power cord right there on the spot.
What would I lie for and include him in a lie?

No, certainly I'm not calling you a liar!It just sounds like the type of story that changes a wee bit every time it is re-told. In fact, we got some more particularly pertinent info regarding the story when you responded to me!
It's cool - I'm definitely not picking a fight.
I guess I've never heard of or played a show where there was someone merchandising directly to the performers. (Outside of targeted music instrument industry functions anway.) Usually, if there is a retailer or manufacturer present, they're there to give you something, not swipe your credit card! I'm doing a semi-private show for Namm later in the month, at something like that I could see the scenario you outline happening, just not at a typical national-act public show. (Again, not saying that you are lying, just that it's certainly not typical!)
Hey, this is supposed to be the part of the thread where everyone sucks up to me and tells me what a great and impartial job I did!
Or it's the part where you tell me I'm full of ----! Either way, I think I should get some love around here, dammit! Was it true science? No. But it was science enough to convince me of my findings, and I did approach it with an open mind, although I tend to take the word of engineers who have bigtime qualifications with great weight. And they are absolutely right. Beautifully made cable...but a free cable that comes with a computer did just as good a job.

But the reality is that ears are wildly uncalibrated, and the equipment they're hooked up to (brain) is positively known and proven to fudge data that it receives. In fact that is one of the primary functions of the sense-receptor parts of the brain: to fudge incoming data until it matches a reference pattern.

Well Roger, I'm all about doing what it takes to get you psyched up for doing your best, but I guess I prefer to put that money into stuff that actually makes me feel good. Cables don't make me feel good. You need them, but I use whatever power cable I have laying around, and I buy whatever's on sale for instrument and speaker cables that looks like it could withstand heavy gigging for more than a month. And I hate spending money on something that doesn't work as advertised AND doesn't make me feel goodPlenty of love Jimmy, but this is one of those products that seems to polarize people into two camps. Those who hear a difference and those that say hogwash. Taking a position one way, or another, puts you into one of those camps and not likely to get much love from the other side.
Me, I'm sitting on the fence with this one. While I'm not sure I buy the marketing, you can't argue the fact that some players use this product and love it. Personally, I don't care why a person loves it. If they plug in and hear a difference (for whatever reason) and the cord makes them enjoy their rig more and that in turn, helps them to perform better, then who am I to argue with them?
Though he and his money won't separate. There once was a man from the Sunshine State,
Who tested a cord and could not recreate
The opinions of others
But we're all brothers
Though he and his money won't separate.
Good one, Rich...just needed that last little zinger![]()

What you say is true about some humans. Others are quite honest about subjectivity and are able to bring mankind great products and inventions. Some combine form and function in wonderful ways. Don't belittle the mind and brain and hand that designed the measuring instruments that we use.
Respect because you're playing an upright in your pic and you look like you have very good formOn the gig. (jazz gig in urb). ABd the cords. They sound different. The ESP is louder and has more low end and seems o have mre volume. My pianist can clearly hear the difference, and we are in a loud room.
I am not having a placebo effect, either. I have been using this for almost a year.

No person is in a position to say "I am not having a placebo effect" unless there is measurable/documentable evidence outside that person's perceptions.
