It would be really great if I could go to a power dam and plug my amp in there. The power must be great plugged in directly at the source. Not going through transmission lines, substations, step down transformers, and dodgy wiring.

As I'm sure you know, watch out what you ask for. Been there, done that (not with MI gear though), had to fix lots of stuff in the aftermath...;)

It just makes no sense at all. Imagine you have a cable that is full of magic pixie dust that adds "awesomeness". Would doubling its length from wall plug to amp increase its awesomeness?

Alternately - is it claiming that it can transmit awesomeness in its purest form from the plug on the wall? What if I open up the power point and connect those wires directly into my amp using no cable at all - Is that doing the same thing? Is it claiming that the wiring in my house is capable of transmitting awesomeness but a standard cable isn't?

Is it just ignoring the fact that the electricity coming out of my power socket does not get here using kilometres of pixie dust cable?

It makes no sense from many angles, explained many times and in many ways. The patience of some humbles me.

This thread was fun for a while, but eventually my head felt like it was going to explode.

Some are getting it (slowly), some appear to actually choose to remain ignorant… one imo is simply being dishonest.

:scowl:

That's why it only takes 2 or 3 pages.

Well, you can't expect everyone to agree on anything, even with hard evidence on one side and nothing on the other. Well, I guess there's one thing...we're all pretty much in agreement that we're all going to die.

Have a great weekend, everybody!

Hey guys.

The “Gerald Veasley” and “Victor Wooten” signature power cords.

:)

They will be at Summer NAMM. They are special versions of MusicCord-PRO.

And since these are sig power cords the biz is a little different between the artist and the company. ;)

Do shorter ones sound better than longer ones? This is a serious question for people who swear by them. How much uber cord do you need to improve your tone?

Glad to see Vic's manager isn't slack ;)

$50 is almost reasonable for a cord like that. Not quite, but not out of line from similar products. But just say it's a nice cord and not some supernatural cord blessed by Mother Teresa.

Among GFS's cable selection is what they term Low Impedance cable, which I assume is meant to be low capacitance. Cable capacitance can make a rather large difference.

The cable was the bottom of the line cheapest 20 foot cable they sell.
I am pleased with the quality though. I switched back to my old cable on that 2nd night ( four week old planet waves) for the last set and it sounded the same. Once again I have no scientific proof but the air wasn't near as thick that 2nd night.

To be honest I would love to do a blind test. But I would do so only if there were trusted people to watch over those who would be switching the power cord or what other tricks they may have in an attempt to throw me off.

This power cord has to much of a witch hunt hovering over it.

The skeptics maintain that this cord does NOTHING. What in your view might somebody do besides change the power cord to trick you into hearing no discernible difference? Do you think the people who disagree with the claims of ESP on scientific principle will resort to trickery to make a point? Generally do the doubters have a vested interest in coercing the rest of us into saving $145?

If they even came up with one little shred of evidence on a scientific level that this cord is better than a standard AC cord, I might be inclined to believe in it. But since they've been around for a couple years and have offered up nothing except Youtube vids, sorry but I take the word of the engineers on here who say it's not possible for a 6 ft. cord to negate what goes on with all the cheap AC wiring in buildings.

Not to mention the cable to the street service, then back to the distribution point, and from there sometimes hundreds of miles to the power plant.

water filters don't work either, then...you'd have to go right back to the reservoir/glacier...

Cheers,
Cameron

ESP is located about 10 min from where I live. I would love to take a gander at what they have going on over there.

I posted my opinion and also what I and about 4 others heard in a "test" at Low Down Sound" when these cables first came out.

If you can't hear a difference, you just saved yourself $50.
If you can hear a difference, well, hit me up at the bar and I'll buy you a drink, because I have an extra $50 in my pocket.

But don't trust me. I have $4500 worth of the baddest hearing aids on the planet keeping my hearing going these days.
(between Bryan Tyler and myself, we make up one bass player! LOL!!)

Some have such a serious disdain for this power cord that I would not say that trickery would be beneath some.

Again there are some who don't agree with those who say they hear a difference. And are just short of saying that they feel that the ones who do hear a difference has got to be missing something upstairs :)

It's been hinted at many times throughout this thread.
