ESP (or other) Les Paul Style Basses?

For some reason, I am really interested in a Les Paul style bass. Under the right circumstances (the economy picking back up), I wouldn't necessarily object to paying the price for a Gibson. In looking around at alternatives, I saw the EXP line of Les Paul copies: ttp://www.espguitars.com/basses_ec.html

I did a search and came up empty. So, does anyone have any experience with these basses - good, bad, or indifferent? Are there any other Les Paul style basses worth exploring?

I would look at the $700 LP bass in the classifieds. Might as well pay a few bucks more and get the real thing.

buy an epiphone like i did for about nothing ... set neck , arch top , chrome buckers .... very nice for the money .....
