Well it's here!
The only pic I have right now is a group shot of all 3 of my basses, all SX...all the time!
To my way of thinking now, the color is reminiscent of Fenders Blue agave from back in the 90's. It looks almost lavender in the pic, the bass looked powder blue in Rondo's pic, and it is kind of a steely blue up close and personal.
I also am definitely not going to change the pup! It has thundering low end and a lot of punch! Awesome sound!
I am however on the fence about everything else.
I was going to repaint it Oly white with an matching headstock, swap the neck for the Rosewood FB with white dots, add a 3 string tree and swap the bridge.
I don't know if I like the look of the bass with the rosewood fingerboard with this color. The current neck is playable but it feels a little thick at the nut and a little wide up top too. I can live with it for now, but the maple fb is growing on me.
I am now kind of leaning towards a white blocked and bound neck or the black blocked and bound neck..or maybe just a neck like it has now, just narrower.
If I go white block and bound, it will have a perloid pick guard. Black block and bound either the white it came with or the perloid...maybe a tort?
I may still swap the bridge, but I am unsure or a BAII on this one. Maybe a Gotoh? Maybe stock....
One thing is for sure, until Rondo gets some more necks in stock, I have only two options, play it like it is or put the Rosewood Jazz neck on it. Well there is a 3rd option, carrots......
Anyway, I guess I am going to think on it a bit, but would welcome opinions.
But she is sweeeeet! I (I'm a dork, you'll see why) have not named it yet. The Geddy clone is called Lilly and the Ash bass is called Blondie. No name for this one yet...
