Absolutely!Does it work well on rounds? Some of us prefer a well worn set of rounds and getting them to simmer down can take quite a while, it would be great if this could speed that process up without risking salmonella or E. coli.
Ask and you shall receive......Wait 'till the pomade crowd gets here.![]()
Good to know.
I mostly string with TIs. So if I still remember around 2027 or thereabouts when I do need to change them, I’ll have to give it a try maybe.
Actually …TIs are already pretty deadish sounding right out of the box IMO. It takes a bit of steady playing before they fully open up and come into their own.
Got anything to smear on that’ll speed up that process?
(Kidding aside, thx for the tip Jim!)
Me too. And threeEucerin+Chrome+G-String=Tricky.... you just described my ex-wife.
B.
I gotta say, I was surprised by your comment on TIs being deadish out of the box. I just replaced a set that did weekly duty on a Precision for 7 years and I can't tell you how flummoxed I was at how lively the new set is. Very off-putting, to be kind about it.
After getting a good dose of stink-eye by my bandmates over several rehearsals, I'm ready to put the dead set back on. I know there's a tub of that white devil grease around here somewhere, I'm actually thinking of giving this Eucerin thing a try.
LOL! One of those “you say to-may-to I say to-mah-to” perception things I guess. They don't sound at all lively to me. I think they sound dull and only really sound like what I think a TI flat should sound like after about two weeks on the bass.![]()

Fried chicken bones are used in Voodoo ceremonies, aren't they?Jimmy, the 'original formula' Eucerin is extremely benign. A friend recovering from shingles was advised by her Dr. that that was the ONLY thing he'd allow to aid with the scarring and itching on the way out. All organic, and should, incidentally, be harmless to finish and electronics.
. . . . and I far prefer that to rubbing the strings with a fried chicken bones . . . . .
