Euphonic Audio Kaput?

Wizzy speakers are the name Euphonic Audio gave to their speakers with whizzer cones. Whizzer cones are an old-school way of transmitting high frequencies from a second, smaller cone while still transmitting the lower frequencies through the larger ten- or twelve-inch cone. It’s simple, effective, and doesn’t require a tweeter or crossover to get the job done. Its only drawback is that it won’t go as high as a dedicated tweeter, but many bassists don’t feel the need for the super-high response.
I always get them and Acoustic Image confused, somehow my brain puts their names in the same memory slot. Almost wrote a completely coherent post, but the little voice told me to double check. Usually he's a jerk but was correct this time.
Still got my CXL112... Played a lot of shows with it. I never liked their amplifiers though - had lots of problems with them, but in their defence, they did take care of me until they had no more spare parts to send...
Yeah, Gary modded two of the tiny amps for me. Very nice to deal with. Wishing them well for the next phase of life!
That may be because they are often mentioned in the same breath at Gollihur's as being a good pairing.
And just like that a 4ohm M-Line Wizzy 12 disappeared from Gollihur’s inventory. My 4ohm EA 110 is my ‘why can’t all big cabs sound like this but louder’ benchmark.
I had a pair of VL208s back in the day, one of them pole mounted for DB use when blending with a mic. They were great. I still have a wizzy 110 and VL108 out in the garage.
Sad to hear this. 15 years ago or so, I used to play an iAmp 500 through two Wizzy 12's. It was a very nice stack. I have a first-generation Doubler still. I should play through it more than I do, but the fan sounds like a jet airplane taking off, and I just haven't gotten around to trying to do anything about it. I wish Gary all the best in his retirement. He designed and built some very innovative and great-sounding gear.
This sucks. I've owned a handful of their products and still think my mline wizzy is the best small cab I have ever owned.
My Wizzy 10 driven by a GK MB200 is all I need for 90% of my playing. I will treasure this little wonder all the more now. Happy trails to the EA principals!

What a shame! I love my iAmp and Wizzy 12! The gear is built like a tank, sounds great and is incredibly flexible. What more can you ask for? These guys did it right and delivered to musicians great products.

Heard you through a 210(?) and a Walkabout (maybe Thunderfunk) back in the no-bass-in-the-PA days and it turned my head. Almost line-array-ish dispersion that filled the room
I loved my iAmp 600 and vl110’s, which I got about 20 years back. Great company and fine-sounding gear. Well done, guys, and happy retirement.
