Eventide H9

yahp. even smaller box than an M9. i like mines but would love to have it just be banks of 3 instead of 6 and have a shallower box that takes up less board space.

an H9 in THAT footprint with up to 3 effects on at a time? KILLER.

their models sound WAY better than any other multi-efx box i've spent time with.

wannnnnnnnnt.

Ya I'm contemplating flipping the m9 and getting a second h9 and an m5 for the few specific line6 effects I really like. Which would mean more board space.

Does anyone use the ringmod from the h9/mod factor? Thoughts?

you do know you get a 5 minute free trial over any effect every day ne? SUPER useful.

yah. thing is, the M5's interface SUCKS. there's a guy that mods it so there's dedicated bank switches, but then you're not looking at quite as cheap an alternative.

There's a new PowerFactor out as well, the PowerFactor2. Still made by CIOKS but now it powers 4 Eventide (or other high-ish power (400 mA) pedals) along with 4 other 9/12 outputs, 2 with 100mA and 2 with 200 mA. Mine arrived today and it seems very solid and is powering both H9's. It's worth considering if you are planning to run multiple Factors or H9's.

yah. it's such a smart move on their part. i'd bump it up to 10 minutes tk really let the lustings set in, but whatevah.

moop. just hooked up my 2nd H9 and it was easy peasy. they show up as different model numbers, easy to copy a patch to the 'pad then onto the other H9.

good stuff.

I'd love to see what users of Eventide pedals have done with modifications to the factory algorithm presets. I would like a good, basic synth sound, but the factory presets are all pretty extreme. I have messed with the settings on my H9 but have yet to come up with anything useful. Is there a source out there that allows users to share their settings?

For a synth sound, are you asking about the Synthonizer on the Pitchfactor? I have yet to find a sound I really like on it.

Yes, the synth on the Pitchfactor. I'm sure there is a good setting fore somewhere. Just need to keep fiddling.

I have gotten some okay theremin-like stuff out of it which sounds better on guitar than on bass. But I haven't found anything super useful. I loooooove my Pitchfactor but I do not necessarily use the things I thought I would when I bought it!

Maybe I was wrong. It is free. Called Resonator.

From the Eventide site:

Interested customers can download the H9 Control app and try out the H9 and preview its functions and sounds. To get the free Resonator algorithm, download H9 Control and “purchase” it for $0 before December 31, 2013. This one is on us - enjoy!!

EDIT: Yep, free. Downloaded firmware upgrade and purchased Resonator for $0.00.

Resonator staggers 4 resonant comb filters to create ambient, arpeggiated, or reverberant sounds. Each comb filter can be tuned to ring out when you play the note selected by the respective 'NOTE' knob. This created dynamic effects that react with more of less intensity based on the harmonic content of the input audio. If resonance is set to 0, the algorithm acts as a simple 4 tap delay with optional reverb. On OSX, Windows, and iPad, Resonator comes with a custom Note Grid interface for tuning and timing the 4 comb filters.

Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but will soon.

Everyone still happy with their H9's? I'm not really finding a ton of reviews for it on bass. Too expensive and not catching on in the bass world? Looks like this with a few other key pedals would be all most would need. Just seein if the rumble in my gut should intensify.
