Eventide H9

Everyone still happy with their H9's? I'm not really finding a ton of reviews for it on bass. Too expensive and not catching on in the bass world? Looks like this with a few other key pedals would be all most would need. Just seein if the rumble in my gut should intensify.

Very happy with mine. It is expensive but I use it to cover a ton of territory. I've built mine up to be a mix of Pitchfactor, Modfactor, an timefactor algos that I love the most. Space doesn't really jive with me. Considering grabbing an h9 core this year so I can double the potential.

The only thing I really need outside the H9 is dirt pedals. Sure you can fake some dirt from the mangled verb or the fuzz from the octave, but they're really limited in tone shaping.

jia. i don't love the filter. but for pitch shifting, pitch arpegiation, trem, a few weird delays, some angry reverbs and a few other stuff it is SO worth it.

i have two, one on each output of my setup, and yeah.... if the Core was out when i bought my second i would have saved a hundy or so, but being able to share algo's across both makes then so worth what i spent on them.

love 'em.

and THAT INTERFACE.

The interface is a huge selling point too. I wish I had an iPad to control it all in 1 screen rather than the scrolling with my iPhone, but it's really not so bad.

I don't really like the filters from the Modfactor because they don't get deep enough. I use a source audio BEFpro for my filter sounds

I think I'm gonna order one tomorrow. This sitting on a PT Nano with my Aggie Octamizer, Agro, and TLC should be a very potent little board. I'm a little sad that the filters on the H9 aren't getting the best reviews as my Filter Twin won't fit as well. No biggie... I can get a PT mini if need be. What can I say, I like Aguilar gear. I'm pretty ready for all these lush sounds the H9 produces though. The zoom MS-60B that was covering these effects is being sold to one of my students tomorrow. Too bad that doesn't really put a dent in the price of one of these but Sweetwater is hooking it up with a great price.

I enjoyed it a bit when added on the end of a synth sound as some modulation, like chorus but a bit different. Especially when you change the speed with expression pedal. It isn't a life changing effect but it can be a nice little spice.

Ya I've always used rotary as a chorus alternative. It's not really noticeable unless you run dirt into it. Fuzz for most pronounced effect.

^ Prymaxe. Same discount, no need to talk to anyone. It's displayed openly on their site and they usually have ~20% off sales around holidays. I got my H9 for $399 from them during their xmas sale. Too had the Core wasn't out then, would've been pretty nice to get one for ~$300.

I love sweetwater but Prymaxe is not to be overlooked.
